take it to the vet. there are many causes for rapid breathing in mice. respiratory infection or any other infection can also cause it. if it is female and larger then it could also be in labour. it could be an allergy to the bedding you are using. switch over to an aspen or recycled paper beddin if you are using cedar or pine since they release phenols that are toxic to rodents.

It could be pneumonia, or an upper respiratory illness. Have them checked out by a veterinarian - they may need to be put on antibiotics or put in an oxygen chamber until they can get over the infection.
