Where people say spay or neuter your pets because so many are unwanted, Wouldn't that be like telling someone not to have kids because so many are in orphanges and foster homes?? Should people get fixed so less kids will be unwanted???

My rabbit has just given birth to one kit but I'm afraid she's hurting the baby. I saw the baby with blood and one ear missing. The mother is ignoring the baby and sometimes would hop in the nest I made(she didn't make a nest too) and would step on the baby. I'm afraid she's hurting the baby. What should I do? It's already late and there are no vets available. Please help. Also I think she's still not done with giving birth coz I checked and felt her tummy and I think she still has another

I have two dutch rabbits, aprox 7/8 mths old. They always have hay and fresh veg in the morning, and fresh veg and pellets in the evening. The past few days, half the veg is being left and a few pellets left last night which is unheard of as they will normally eat everything in sight!

Other than that they seem in good health if perhaps spending more time in the indoor part of their hutch.

Any ideas anyone?

I had a two year old registered full lepard appaloosa that was born on my farm as healthy as they come. She ran and played with all the other horses, was extremely mischeivious, had absolutely no signs of any kind of ailment, and appeared absolutely healthy as could be.
Several days ago she was in the barn being a pain as usual when all of a sudden she collapsed never able to get back to her feet. We had two vets respond immediately and spent several fruitless hours doing everything possible but ended with euthanasia. She was able to move her head but that was it. I have had horses all my life and thought I'd seen everything however, I was absolutely stunned by this occurance!
I was just searching to find some information if anyone had ever encountered such a situation. I found heart murmurs are common among horses but could find nothing referring to equine strokes.
The vets suspect she suffered from a heart murmur as they clearly detected it while at the farm, leading to a stroke.

Hi i've got a seven week old female syrian hamster, and was just wondering all the foods that are ok to give them as treats, such as what fruits and vegetbables etc.

Also she is very wary of being picked up at the moment, so i was just wondering how long does it normally take before she may become tame.

My pregnant guinea pig is 70 days pregnant. Tonight I gave her and the daddy floor time as I always do. As always he tries to mount her and before I could get him he mounted her. I put him in his cage and checked her and his "stuff" was coming uot of her hoo hoo. Is this going to hurt the babies or anything. I know with humans it can bring on labour, but I don't know with guinea pigs if it is the same. This is the first time he has mounted her since they were bred in Dec. And do you think she will have these pups anytime soon, I can't wait to see and hold my new little babies.:)

My fish.... please help.?
I have pearl scales, black moores and a few gold fish, and i usually house them in a 6 foot tank.
i have recently moved house and had to transport my fish in a 70 litre storage container.
I have the filter and air stones hooked up to the storage container... but today i noticed my pearlscales have red blood spots on their body.
I did a PH test and it was a little alkaline, so i neutralised it.
Will my fish be ok and the blood spots go away soon?
Any suggestions on how I can keep my fish healthy while they have to live in this container (it may be a while) would be helpful

Thanks

My mom has a raccoon, and she is legal. She has been acting really strange for the past couple of days, making strange sounds, trying to rub up on everything. So is now the time that they go into heat? And do you know just about how long this will last??? Thanks for your time

I have a male hamster and I bought this spray called Grannick's Bitter Apple at the pet store, which is for dogs but I know it works on hamsters too. He's been biting my hands so I spray it on my hands before I pick him up but he also chews on the bars. However, I don't want to spray it on his cage bars if chewing them doesn't cause brain damage because after reading some stories I know it taste horrible and I don't want to use it unless I absolutely have to because I don't want him going through that pain.

I have two rabbits that need someone to hold and pet them. I can't do everything. I have a dog, a cat, a chicken, a wife, and a home that is falling down around my ears. no money. What do I do with the rabbits. If I turn them loose in the yard, they will be prey, not acceptable.
