Start right away you want it to get used to you while its young so its friendly. just be gentle.

One Week . He Needs To Settle In To His New Home And All He Needs Is A Big Hand Grabbing And Poking At Him. Trust Me He Wont Bite You And I Have Had Allot Of Hamsters Over The Years And Thats What Every Petshop That I Went To Told Me.

you can start playing with it now. in fact the sooner the better for it to be really tame and not start to bite you. other tips: make sure you have the wooden chew sticks so it's teeth don't over grow. i used a bedding called critter care from wal-mart. it is better for them than pine or cedar and they can form a better nest out of it. also it absorbs the urine better and smells better. get a bag of poly-fil from the sewing section at wal-mart and put a wad of it in the cage each time you clean it.

i would say bout 1 day to let it settle in cos i hav an 8 week old hamster and he was fine after 1 dat

You can starte playn with it as soon as it gets hair and it can be away from its mother ....Dont no what kind you have but they have short term memory so i talk 2 mine everyday and let it smell me before i pick it up, cuz they cant see very well..... hope i helped.......

you should at least wait 3 days, let him/her get use to the new cage and new enviroment
