I'm not sure if that is normal or not, but she has a small patch missing on her belly and i noticed it then the next day it was a little worse. Is she sick? Is this normal? I do notthink that this is normal but I need to know what to do.

~Thank You!

Older hamsters will loose some hair as they age due to Chronic Renal failure. But there are also some health related problems that cause this too. Keep and eye on how mush hair she's losing during the next week. If she is scratching, not just washing and is losing hair or the skin is crusty/scabby take her to the vet. Also if the hair suddenly falls out all over the body and the skin is translucent in appearance there's a problem and she needs the vet. Some of these are caused by mange, Cushing's Syndrome, Tyzzer's Syndrome or even improper diet. When hamsters eat only certain foods from the food you feed them, they can cause an improper diet themselves. Also make sure the hair hasn't fell out from the litter, the wheel, or a leaky water bottle.

I recently went through a few Russian dwarfs with mange and have several more diagnosed with Cushing's Syndrome. The mange was treated and the hamsters are fine now. We don't over crowd only 1-3 hamsters per cage depending on cage size (only one Syrian per cage with 1-2 dwarfs).
