My mom has a raccoon, and she is legal. She has been acting really strange for the past couple of days, making strange sounds, trying to rub up on everything. So is now the time that they go into heat? And do you know just about how long this will last??? Thanks for your time

raccoons can go into heat at a year old, and it sounds like yours is. You may want to get her fixed now. A sexually mature raccoon can get mean, and she's going to want to find a mate. Oh, and God forbid if there are any male raccoons in the area, close enough to smell her. It could be messy.
