My wife just bought a Eureka, it has a self cleaning extendable duster, and attachments. She bought it at Kohl's (excellent store.) This is probably the best vacuum cleaner we have owned. It has done a wonderful job picking up pet hair in the carpeting that I didn't even know we had! I think she got it for around $89 good luck!

I have the Dyson, PC 14, which is made to pick up animal hair. I have a golder retriever and she has long white hair and it works! Best vacuum I ever bought!

Before you set on one, go to epinions.com and amazon.com to look at actual user ratings. You may find a good one that way. I use those sites constantly as users will say "This is great, but soooo noisy!" rather than just rate by stars.
