she has a sore on the outside of her ear that she has had for 3 months but when she shakes her ear it breaks open and bleeds on her head. My boyfriend has looked inside her ears with one of those ear scopes but nothing found, even our local vet said its just a sore on her ear, I dont know if there is something going on in her ear that makes her shake her head or rub her ear causing the sore or is it just the sore on her ear that is itching and she is shaking her head because it itches, Any comments, you can see her on http://hollithesidecardog.com

I know its probably a good reason, but is it because there are laws against it? they're messy? they smell? theyre too dependent? they need too much attention?

Don't tell me because they are too wild. Wild horses are too wild as well. But if you take one from birth and break it's will, and train him to be a riding zebra, they should be ride-able.

So why hasn't anyone tried to have a zebra as a riding horse?

Wouldn't they also be really fast? Could you race a Zebra in the Kentucky Derby?

Just got a teddy bear hamster, but I don't trust the people in pet stores 100%, is this all my hamster needs to be happy and comfortable?

He has a two level wire cage (the store said it was the best they had). A wheel, glass water bottle, care fresh bedding, hamster nesting material, hamster food, hamster treats, food bowl, excercise ball (aka cat annoyer),carrot flavoured salt/mineral lick, oh and I gave him a toilet paper roll (bleach free don't worry)

Also any hamster advice or stories would be greatly appreciated

My female hamster was in heat on Tuesday, so I tried putting them together on Saturday (4 days later, I wasn't ready to breed on Tuesday) well, he was too busy licking her and by the time he wanted to mount, she was too frustrated and attacked him.

I tried again on Sunday and again today, in hopes that maybe since it was winter, her cycle was messed up. But apparently, she isn't in heat now (or maybe wasnt even in heat on Saturday?). They just wont breed.

Is there anything I can do? Is this normal in the winter?

Thanks!

He's not fat but literally he is bigger than the average hamster and the tubes in his cage that lead to the one and only place he will sleep. So I need larger tubes that will fit on my CritterTrail 3 hamster cage. Does anybody know where I could aquire such a thing?

Last night, my bunnies mated for the first time ever. My female, Rose, is great. She is so calm and lovable, etc. But today, when I went to pick her up, she bit me! And she attacts my hand, and she almost growls, makes a really strange sound. What does all this mean? Does mating for the first time really effect them that much, or is it something else I wonder? Thanx!

For example, I have 2 very small dogs and our local beach doesn't allow dogs "ON THE BEACH". If I were to take them there, carry them to the play pen and set them in it. Are they still "ON THE BEACH". My opinion is, if they were in a play pen elevated above the sand then technically, no they are not on the beach.

Me and my family take in one litter of puppies at a time we then take really good care of them shots vet check good quality dog food.. they are owner surrendered some times we offer cash like a $50 per dog depending on the breed and if it is AKC The people surenddering the dogs know what i am doing I am very honest with them...I am doing what breeders do but I am not but I am not breeding dogs I am just finding great homes.. I have no prblems morally selling the dogs because I know when people pay good money the usaully take great care of the puppies. most of the puppies i recieve are on there way to the pound I am not a puppy broker. SINCE MOST OF THE PUPPIES I RECIEVE ARE NOT AKC. this is a service these people are really happy not to have the burden of a litter any advice thanks

my hamster has crawled up the stairs of my house several times by herself by breaking out of her cage (downstairs) and somehow she can climb the stairs, last night, she woke me up twice because she was in the bathroom, i keep on putting her back and resecuring her, but she is a smart hamster. but this time she is not in her usual place, in the second floor bathroom, i dont know what to do, she is a mastermind in getting to places but i love her so much, keep in mind that she can be almost anywhere somehow she is very skilled at climbing stairs despite being a normal sized golden hamster.

My friend has just got a 11 year old hunter mare (month ago) that have done most things, is good to ride and do etc. But a week ago we started to have problems getting her to accept the bit, she is in a happy mouth snaffle. Her last owners had her in a straight bar, but with no brakes! We changed the bit after she bolted with me in the outdoor school and tried jump out, throwing me off in the process! She was fine to bit the frist few times but now she tries to rear and throws her head up. She has been full vetted with teeth and back checked, when we do get the bit in she works really well and seem happy in the mouth. Is she just being naughty or does any one have any ideas. I have had my vet check her over again but cant find a problem.

we homed a stray albino "jill" back in September and we estimated her age as around 6 months as her teeth were still white and she was very small, when we went tro collect her "hob" friend last month we were shocked at the difference. She weighs in at around 630g and the guy we got the other one from thought she was more like 18 months and into her 2nd season, he felt she had already been spayed as she had no yellowing to her fur. She is less playfull than the boy and sleeps far more. Anyone with any ideas on ageing ferrets???
