My dogs and cats have never really had fleas, if I found 3 a year that was a lot. The do get advantage drops. However, the winter has been unseasonably warm this year in Florida, and my cat accidentally got out and hid under the porch for 3 days, coming in flea infested. I was my bedding , the doggie blankets , run a pet hair roller over the furniture to get up the eggs daily. No evidence of them in the house, but on the poor animals it is terrible. One little bite and they are pulling their hair out. I do not want to use a chemical spray as their skin is already irritated. I have read a lot about lemons and water and applying it to the skin, but that might sting with the irritation. Any other suggestions, and can I use lemon on the cat, as her skin is not irritated?

I want to adopt 3 retired or injured horses that people don't want, but I don't have enough money to care for every one. I need some donations to help me buy feed, grooming supplies, bedding, and vet costs. Does anyone know if they can help, or where I can get some donations. I saw online that someone posted a blog about their dog needing a surgery that cost $2000 and she put her paypal account on the webpage and she got more than enough to pay for the surgery. I just can't remember what website that was. Please help!

I will be getting a rabbit as a house rabbit (pet) and I am getting mixed info from people. I would like to know, should I get it Spayed / Neutered since I don’t plan to breed it, and I have herd it makes them less moody as well as less proned to get cancers in the reproductive organs…. Is this true?! I have herd the same thing with dogs and cats, so am just trying to get some clarification…

How old (min) will it have to be to get Spayed / Neutered?? I have herd different ages for this as well. Some say 4 months when others say 6 months… So witch is it?

The rabbit I plan to get is a Flemish Giant; don’t know if that makes any difference for any of this info as well, since it is the largest rabbit breed out there… (Average between 15-25lbs full grown. But some can get bigger!)

Any and all info would be great! As well as any web sites to back the info up… Thanks in advance everyone!

Somehow a mouse got into our house. I was hoping my golden lab or my mean little rabbit would get rid of them, but they seem to have made friends with each other. We have called an exterminator, and he put down sticky traps. Unfortunately the only thing that got stuck on them was my dog. We bought humane traps that you stick peanut butter in, but they won't go near them. The mice are adorable, but I want them gone! Any helpful suggestions (one's that don't involve dead mice)?

I have a 2 year old female pet rat. For the last week she's been lethargic, "ruffled fur", and I just noticed tonight that she fell over backwards when grooming herself.....as if she was dizzy and lost balance. She isn't sneezing or wheezing...no head tilt either. Anyone know what this is?

Has anyone used the generic types of spot-on flea medicine from Wal-Mart? They have a few different varieties, and they are WAY cheaper than Frontline. I'm assuming you get what you pay for, but from experience in flea season here you need to treat almost every 3 weeks. That really adds up.

Thanks for the help!

I see my customers at Macy's carrying cute little travel sized dogs around all the time and I never got a chance to ask any of them what breeds they were, if they get along with other animals, etc. I've wanted one for awhile now.
