I want to adopt 3 retired or injured horses that people don't want, but I don't have enough money to care for every one. I need some donations to help me buy feed, grooming supplies, bedding, and vet costs. Does anyone know if they can help, or where I can get some donations. I saw online that someone posted a blog about their dog needing a surgery that cost $2000 and she put her paypal account on the webpage and she got more than enough to pay for the surgery. I just can't remember what website that was. Please help!

I saw something like that on postaroo where someone was asking for donations to buy Christmas presents. Maybe you could post something on postaroo asking for help.

I would talk to your local feed and tack stores to see what they are willing to donate. Make up some posters and maybe look on the Internet for a government website that may offer a break for a foundation like yours. As for the blog, the only one I know of is myspace.com. Maybe that would work.
Your local SPCA might have some idea's as well.
Good luck and I hope it all works, it's nice to hear of people helping horses. So many of them get put down for no reason.

You don't need to set yourself up to fail at this. Adopt only as many of the horses as you can afford to properly care for. Maybe you should be asking instead if there is anyone in the community that would be interested in adopting the remaining two horse, and you only taking one. That way you can find good homes for all without breaking anyone's bank. One horse you can afford, correct? The other two could be places in good homes other than yours.

First off it is great you are doing this, so many horses need our help, but in your case, few of us have the means, funds, and land necessary to help these beautiful creatures.
Here are a few websites, I'm not sure what exactly you are hoping to find so look around

This might be your best bet, if you have a myspace, shoutok.com, yahoo even! all of these are free to join and you can put anything up on them. Just state that you want to rescue 3 old/injured horses, but need help funding these horses.

I think that what you are doing is great! Try posting ads in your local newspapers and classifieds. Organizing fund raisers will help too. Try posting an ad on dreamhorse.com and try the blog craigslist.com. Good Luck!

Advertise in newspapers, petshops, vet clinics, horse magazines, put out flyers everywhere, and have people tell other people.

best way to do that is to make what you do into a nonprofit organization. you can then get many donations, government assistance and tax exemption.

try to contact the World Wide Fund, usually they know what they (or you) should do, or try the greenpeace or any other organization... Maybe you can make your own page, or just have it in friendster... just think of any ways you can do freely.
