Hello again, cheerios are great for hamsters. Really they like most things but you do need to get a hamster feed from the store because it is vitamin enriched and balanced for them. All these other things like: raisins, peanuts, cheerios, cookies, crackers are treats. Again have fun with Peanut.

Plain Cheerios are fine for hamsters, and a lot cheaper than the little hamster treats you buy at the pet store.

Yes they'll eat them and it's a good source of fibre and essential minerals, but generally they are slightly too processed and the goodness is lost. You're better of buying them rolled oats, bran, rabbit pellets, as well as hay, fresh fruit and vegetables. And make sure when you buy the generic food; make sure you keep it in a clip-seal bag or some other air-tight container inside so it doesn't loose vitamin C that hamsters particularly need.

Cheerios are actually great for you hamster (as a treat) They add a lot a much needed fiber to your hamsters diet. My rats and mice got them about three times a week. just add them slowly to his diet so you don't give him diarrhea. And dont over do it he still needs his normal food, so don't fill him up with treats.

Absolutely! They love them...however give in moderation. A few to supplement their pellets. Also, try plain ole' quaker oatmeal... again in moderation. Hamsters, guini pigs, rabbits, they will start to pick through their pellets and not eat them and only eat the "treats". Stick to the no sugar treats... also if you go to the pet store pick up some yogurt treats... One a day keeps their GI track in good shape!

Sugar and animals' teeth don't get along too well, because they don't get to see the dental hygienist very often, like humans do. Just to play the devil's advocate, I would say, heck, he's a hamster. If he likes them, let him eat them. I doubt hamsters live long enough for dental decay to become a problem.

My mom's and my son's hamsters both liked a tiny bit of chocolate. The both lived for more than 3 years.

Id say it's fine. You can give them fruit and that has lots of sugar so I think cheerios is def. ok!
