Just got a teddy bear hamster, but I don't trust the people in pet stores 100%, is this all my hamster needs to be happy and comfortable?

He has a two level wire cage (the store said it was the best they had). A wheel, glass water bottle, care fresh bedding, hamster nesting material, hamster food, hamster treats, food bowl, excercise ball (aka cat annoyer),carrot flavoured salt/mineral lick, oh and I gave him a toilet paper roll (bleach free don't worry)

Also any hamster advice or stories would be greatly appreciated

You have done a great job. One thing you might use in the future is aspen shavings. It is very safe and probably cheaper than the Carefresh bedding.

For fun you can toss on a whole roll of fragrance free toilet paper and watch your teddy bear have a blast chewing it up into a nest.

Don't worry if the feed cup is empty. Hamsters will often move the food into a nest. Fresh veggies are always good and keep the cage and bedding dry.

You will be a great Teddybear Hamster mom!

I had two of those hamesters at the same time. I bought one of those plastic cages that had tubes to connect them to each other (they can climb through them for exercise). You can connect other little square boxes to them so they can have a look out point. They also loved the ball you already have. Sounds like you have what you need. I also lined the bottom with plastic and put the bedding over it. A lot easier to change, you don't have to scrape the poop and pee off - just remove the plastic liner with the used bedding. Keeps it a lot cleaner. I used to give treats of corn kernels (dried). You will be a great owner - you care a lot and got what you need! I am sure you will want another. Mine seemed to keep each other company. = )

Remove the nesting material as it can kill your hamster, also keep using carefresh as it is the best for yyour new pet.
