My Bubbles died!! he was always active! bubbles lived in a hal full 10 gallon tank. no light. his stomach Turned VERY black. he was a BEAUTIFUL cambodian with red spots on his tail. was that swim bladder or constipation??
Also i got a female, also cambodian, and her stomach turned a yellow and bursted open the day after i got her.
i wanted to know what happened so i don't kill any more!!
P.S. yes, i LOVE cambodians!!

I just bought a Betta and have a question about feeding while I'm away. I won't be away for long. I plan to leave about lunch time on Friday, and will be back on Sunday by supper time. Should I worry about not having anyone around to feed the fish on Saturday? My aquarium has a lid on it since I'm told male Bettas can jump, and I won't be able to put an automatic feeder in there.

he doesn't want to eat my fish i know that because he tipped the fishtank over today and my fish landed in the sink with only a little bit of water so he barely suvived, but then we got him back in the tank with water, but my cat had a perfect shot of eating myfish but he didn't, so why does he always try to get the lid of my fish's tank??

the film is almost like tracing paper. have tried to drain the top level, running newspaper over surface to collect the film, but no success. What has caused it and how do I get rid of it?

what do i need to know about breeding guppies such as water changes and temp and other stuff. Is there such thing as having to much gravel in tour tank. my tank is 30 gallons. Also does any one how much baking soad is needed to raise the ph.

we have a tropical tank with no live plants in but there is something growing on the ornaments like a green fern plant it grows quickly and spreads , any ideas what it is and how to get rid of it , thanks

I cleaned my fish tank yesterday and it was sparkling. Now today it's cloudy again. I just got the fish 2 days ago so could it be that they are scared and pooping everywhere 'cause it's a new place? Or do I just have to clean it more than every wednesday or thursday? PLEASE HELP!

If and when I do buy Fish, it's on a Thursday and we get the fish as a last minute thing and only have a 30 minute drive. And we get back it's pretty late. So would it be ok to float the bag in the tank over night? And release them in the morning? And how much water do u release. I usually do the whole bag.

when feeding your fish with pellets (those small round floating food) does your fish sometimes have trouble swallowing it? like its stuck on their mouth?? if so, what did you do to help them?

one of my zebra danio got her food stuck inside her mouth, what should i do? please help...
and i know platies could also suffer the same since once i've seen my old platy long ago got his food stuck...

MY FISH DIE SO OFFTEN. i DONT know why i clean the tank about every week. the fish usally sit on the gravel then i find them dead the next day. what should i do i change the water will the gravel cleaner so the water should be clean. i am also trying to bread guppys. please help my fish are dyeing like every week.

One of my dwarf platies' back tail won't move so everytime he trys to swim he sinks to the bottom and is exausted. Is there anything i can do for him? The tail looks like it's locked or something. Please help, Thanks

i need to know if i can make a blackwater(actually brown...) water tank in my aquarium...i need to know if the fish can handle it...my fishies are 1 betta, 2 mollies,5 skirted tetras, 1 guppy,1 neon tetra(friends died...)1 platy,3 corys, 1 snail, 1 dalmation molly,and 1 pleco. Can they live in this type of water? because i am hopeing to make it look like the amazon river.... thanks for the help!!

Right, at the moment i have a male betta. 3 females are on their way and i should have them by the end of next week. I have 2 spare bowls that i think they could breed in. One is 5litres and one is 10litres. I want to know how to tell when they are ready to breed, the best way to set the tanks up. Which tank size is best and how many females to put in with the male.

PS both tanks are without heaters or filters. Would adding a swan mussel in there help as i wont use filters?

Hi,
I have a 29 gallon that I posted on criagslist.com that I was looking for some community fish for it. I have got 2 responses for guppies, though the guppies are too young to identify the sex yet they said. So my question is how many guppies can I put in there? It has 55 gallon filtration and we would like to have a few other fish with them, like 4 panda cories and a bristlenose pleco or 3 otocinclus. The tank has been running for over a year, we recently rehomed some goldfish that were in it. To add on to my question, should I only get males or can I do a mixture? I don't want to overpopulate it. Also, how old do guppies need to be before you can sex them?

what does this mean?
I just put him in a freshly cleaned tank new filter rocks fake plants...he is antisocial now and hides out in his little house...if he see's me he gets scared or puffs his face up at me...his body looks fine...he is eating okay i guess...is this okay...i have betta fix should i give him that? please help i don't want him to be sick....thank you

my tropical fishtank is full of snails i didnt buy any snails myself but they just overpopulate my tank. they killed all of my fish 3 neon tetras and 3 guppies, i have only a catfish sucker left, i was thinking of putting him in another bowl while drying out my tank to kille the snails, i have already once fished all of the out but the is over 300,000 snail eggs, is drying out my tank the only solution?

Okay so, She is HUGE!!! Her stomach is huge and is full of what looks like orange eggs...I know its not, thats just what it looks like...I first thought she was pregnant but after a month I gave that up...I know think she has Swim Bladder but Im not really sure so I thought I would see what others had to say. Please help me out, and input would be greatly appreciated.

Im thinking he is dead but he might not be. He is floating around, not breathing (thats why I think he might be dead), and has a black bulge on one of its sides near the bottom of the fish? Is this bad because I have another goldfish in the same tank and show I go out and immediately buy another one?

Why is my molly near the water surface constantly sucking in water or debris? I know the oxygen level is not low because I have 2 oxgyenator plants, plus the light is on so the plants aren't using oxygen. Furthermore, the filter and the airstone is in top notch condition. And the 3 guppies in there are happy and swimming.
