There is no need to replace it if you do not want. They are pretty cheap to replace if you wanted. The reason they come in pairs is bc most who purchase them want to breed them.

A single guppy will do just fine in a tank alone or with other fish. No need to replace the missing fish unless you just want to and want to have baby guppies all in your tank. If you still have the female, odds are very high she is pregnant and you will have replacements for your missing male within a month anyway.

No they don't need to live in pairs but I would suspect that your tank is looking faily empty. Guppys are cheap buy a bunch of them !

Ideally if you want to keep more than one guppy you should have a ratio of 2/3 females to every male. If you don't want to buy anymore though it should be fine on its own

no...one of mine turned mean and attacked my other guppy AND ATTACKED MY BETTA!! so i put him in my mom's Goldfish tank and since he is with bigger fish he behaves now!! the other guppy is doing REALLY good and eats like a pig and acts normal as though he never even had a guppy friend!!! you can buy some more and they will live happily ever after..except if you've got a mean one!! ;)
