Ty MM,
That's not a species, shelookred, that's a site name. What is displayed there is a Super Red Arowana. If you live in the USA, you cannot import this fish. At $700.00, you are paying for a very low end quality fish as well. The Super Red Arowana's at a high end quality, provided you live in a country you can legally import you, would be about $1200-$1500 for a A+ quality one. B and C quality Arowana would be going for $700.00. The only other color of Asian Arowana that ranks higher in price is the Platinum and occaisonally the Xback Red Tailed Golden aka RTG's.
Yes they are a beautiful fish, I have the money to get one, I just live in the USA and you'll never get one in here legally. Their was legislation in process I was informed by an eBay seller, darmalisdragonfish.com owned by Blake Baron that said the first expected importable Asian Arowana's would be the Red Tailed versions, not sure about the cross backs though. For now, if you live in the USA, you can only dream like I do. Sorry.
JV
PS. The Blood Red's and Chili Red's are just as good as super reds IMO and usually a lesser price
FOLLOW UP: There is something I do want to clairfy for the google monsters looking up prices. When you see the Arowana's going for $5000.00 and $7500.00 those prices are for juvenlie/adult Super Reds. At 12 to 15 cm, you are still talking about a young/baby one and they do not command the same market value as a bigger grown adult. Please keep this in mind.
It's not going to happen legally no matter what someone who is sadly misinformed tells you. It's a simple no brainer and anyone with common sense or has the ability to think beyond that of a child knows that you must get one from a CITES farm and microchipping occurs. I just didn't think something as simple as that needed to be explained, however, what you do need to know, since you are in China, I'm glad you emailed me direct so you can get accurate helpful information.
Patrick, you don't need a 900 gallon tank to keep an Arowana, thats just ludicrous. Even a 180 or 210 for Arowana is just fine. Extra turning space is nice to have, but they can still thrive in set ups at 180 for over 15 years.

i would not advise an arowana in any 10 gallon or 20 gallon or in step with possibility a 30 gallon fish tanks. the reason of it is they are predators and that they might outgrow the tank. someone-friendly occurance is that if the tank is small, they are going to detect a thank you to bounce out of the tank. Arrowana can bounce and that they are going to bounce, additionally they are going to feed on flying bugs, if there is one flying around, they are going to tempt to bounce on the insect. the whole tank could be coated with mesh cord. despite if, a 10 gallon tank, isn't ideal for any Arrowanas. you are able to try it, despite if it is volatile, and interior the long-term, you will finally end up spending extra money on attempting to come to a decision a thank you to make an Arrowana stay to tell the tale in a small tank, which the potential for that happening is on the brink of 0. 10 gallon tanks are many times used for small fish like fish that has been spawned or many times fish it is surely small in length. fish species that has handed spawning length and that gets somewhat enormous, should not be located in a tank it is smaller than that is maximum length because of the reality that the survival fee would be increasingly extra decreased. a lot of hobbyists obtainable won't try this by way of their reports and their person-friendly awareness. for this reason, you are able to placed money right into a extensive tank including a minimum of a fifty 5 gallon before you even attempt to place one in all those fish as an arrowana right into a tank. thank you for asking................. Edit: Jon V is rather the main suitable option, a fifty 5 to seventy 5 gallons particularly remains too small, those tanks could be used purely for somewhat youthful Arowanas. it might no longer be used for grownup Arowanas, a bigger tank will and is mandatory. despite if, i've got seen arm's length Arowanas interior a fifty 5 gallon tank before, yet via experienced people who is conscious approximately this interest, while you're new to this interest, you mustn't evaluate doing this in any respect. TO JON V Thumbs as much as the guy decrease than me, a double Thumbs up on your answer....................

These are the nicest Arrowana in the world. $700 for a juvenile is cheap. I hope you plan on getting at least a tank that's 10'L x 4'D x 3'H 900 gallons or hopefully larger in the next couple of years. They were selling lower quality ones in Canada in the low $2,000 range. I'm not sure where you're located though getting this into the US will be diffilcult due to CITES and that $700 may just be thrown out. If the fish has a chip and all of the documentation you have a chance though spend a lot of time with customs to make sure everything is ok and they will allow this fish's importation.

your link dosnt work, but i followed MMs.
Anyway, that is a red asain arowana, and if you live in he USA it will be hard to get in. legally...
They must be mircochiped and you must recieve the number when you get the fish. Also to get them legally in the usa u must get them from a CITIES approved arowana farm.
So 700 USD is by far to less to come from a CITIES farm, and it looks like that is for people in the overseas market. As there laws about this fish are different.
To find a good red asain it will run you into the thousands of dollar range.
Even small ones are over 5000.
if your in the usa, you really should look into other species, like jardini arowanas.
