I am fighting a long a bloody war with cyanobacteria in my 20 gallon nanotank. I'm about out of options, things to try. Looking for new tactics.

Here's the story:

Prizm Pro skimmer (supposedly good to 300, but Bob Fenner says 55 -- anyway I have 20)
About 25 lbs live rock, well seasoned, good coralline growth.
One smallish emerald crab
One dottyback - pseudochromis diadema
Two yellow fin blue damsels - medium sized
Four smallish hermit crabs
One smallish bud of mushroom "coral" anemone

PH 8.2 -- Phosphate 6 ish -- Nitrate < 5 ppm -- Nitrite / Ammonium 0 -- 80 degrees -- 9 Alkalinity

Aragonite substrate. Diatom growth on tank walls. Assorted live rock hitchhikers.

I feed most of one cube frozen krill / shrimp, strained to remove phosphate. At same time, I drop two drops concentrated zooplankton mix into 8 ounce and reintroduce.

DAILY water change of about 3/4 gallon. Did a larger change of about 20% over the weekend.

Cyano still persistent. Help.

Would a Golfish do fine with a betta fish? This is what i was thinking off:
1- Small Goldish
1-Betta Fish
2-3- Corydoras Catfish
3- Random Fish

-Is this fine or do I have to take some out. If i could put more what should I put and how much?

My dalmatian molly, Emmitt, just died and while I loved him (or because I loved him), I want to get a different kind of fish. I only have a 2.65 gallon tank, so I know I can't get anything big or in large quantities. I either want one or two (at the very most) fish the size of mollies, or 4 very small fish (to name after Phish...haha I'm so lame).

Note:
Freshwater only -I have a filter and a lamp in the hood.
Fish I don't want: Goldfish (due to their need for a larger tank) and Bettas

I got two goldfish a couple of days ago and was told to feed them once every other day. Well I fed them every day instead. Then today when I arrived at my home, they were fine. I didn't feed them, thinking I had already fed them too much since I fed them everyday, and 10 minutes later one of the fish is dead! I tapped on the glass to be sure; no movement. I bumped him with my dipper; still no movement. I assumed he was dead so I respectively flushed him. Then I read online that fish will sometimes float or sink if they have stomach problems. Is it possible my fish was alive and I just flushed him?! He was floating on his side, and his fins weren't moving so he looked dead to me. Anyone have anything to say to this?

Greetings,

I purchased a tank and got it all ready to go and let it set for a week before I bought a Bala Shark. I brought an oscar home last Thursday, so I've had him for 4 days counting today.
He hides behind the leaves and won't come out. I had the Bala Shark in the tank also. I was told they were good company for each other.
Anyhow, Saturday I noticed the Bala not doing good. So I watched them for a while and the Oscar was eating him:( So needless to say I flushed him before the Oscar killed him.
I fed the Bala blood worms but the Oscar won't eat them. Now that the Bala is gone the Oscar just lays on the bottom behind the leaves and won't come out. He lays on one side and sometimes doesn't look like he is breathing. I know he hasn't ate since I got him. I've done the water changes and checked everything. I started Melafix treatment today. Will he starving to death?? What should I do??

I have a 30 gallon tank that has a live plant and various decorations in it. In the tank, I now have 4 angelfish, 3 sm. cory cats, and a gourami. I had 2 eels, 2 loaches, and 2 other cory cats, but all died when I treated for Ich.

I have an Ich medicine that the local pet store recommended when one of my cory cats got white fuzzballs on its fins and followed the directions I was given. The first infected cory died with all the others when I put the meds in the tank, but now another cory cat is infected, and I'm scared to put more meds in. I have had my angelfish for 2+ years and do not want to kill them!

Is there anything I can do to cure the Ich without putting more blue medicine into the tank??

I have a small ten gallon tank with a convict. There is a good filter on the tank and she has always been a very healthy fish. But I noticed at the pet store, every tank had an oxygen tube in it. Should I definitely get one of these or can she survive without it?

We have had a Red Devil Cichlid for about 8 years. He is such a cool fish. We get so much enjoyment out of him! He is quite social, and very entertaining. :) When we got him he was only about 2 inches long.....he is now about 9 inches. How long can we expect to have him....how long do they generally live?

I have a 90T gallon tank with convicts in it, It started as 3 females and apparently the fish store lied because now I am going on thirty. the fish store now tells me they can not be sure on gender and they will not take any fish back. I can not get rid of any through classifieds.

I have tried about everything to get rid of them without killing them(they are too cute). Is there anything in the freshwater that would eat them or atleast the fry? the parents are so protective that they will bite me if I put my hand by them in the tank.

Thanks.
Ryan
