I ran across a saltwater fish once a couple of years ago. I was white with perfect black polka dots, and i don't know how else to explain it, except that it reminded me of a flowy silk blouse. I really want to purchase one, and cannot seem to find it online. please help....this is my dream fish!

I has a question about one of my fish.

We have a 55 gallon tank with about 10 fish in it. One of my fish is acting weird. It constantly looks it is dead. It'll flost on its' side or upside down. But when get go in to get him, he swims away and has soo much energy. When we feed, he'll swim around like nothing wrong.

It's been doing this everyday for a month now.

I say he's hibernating, my husband says he had a stroke (:P) We now call him Jesus. Does anyone know what may be going on?

My daughter is doing a Science Fair project and we have many questions. The question is:" Do goldfish grow larger in a larger tank? " I have 2 fish bowls with everything in both bowls the same measurements, as well as two 2'' common "Comet" goldfish.
1 Goldfish is in the 1 gal fishbowl and the other in a 1/2 gal fishbowl . I need to know what temperate they should be kept at?
How much water do I change weekly?
How to chart the data I used?
How much square area is needed for our goldfish?
How often and how much do I feed our goldfish? In each fishbowl there is only 1 goldfish.(Both fish are about 2inches each)
Are the bowls large enough? (1 bowl is 1 gal. and the other bowl is.50 gal 1/2 gal.) I was reading up on it and I read that I shouldn't use a goldfish bowl. But why are they called goldfish bowls if you should not use them?

Anyone who cares to help with this, I want to say THANK YOU right now.
Thanks

I have a Betta (siamese fighing fish) and I keep him in a 2.5 gallon heated tank by himself. I was out of town over the weekend and when I came back he seemed to be having problems swimming, if he's not actively moving he sinks to the bottom of the tank. He's still active, eats, and reacts when he sees me, and hasn't turned gray or anything, so I don't think he's terribly sick or dying, doesn't have any external signs of infection. He just sinks. Does anyone know what's wrong with him and if I can do anything to make him better?

I have a 30 gallon tropical fishtank with mollies, hatchetfish, neons, glowlights, etc. I was at the fish store and I saw freshwater dwarf puffer fish. I looked online and found that they sometimes bite of fins of other fish. When I went to the aquarium this past weekend, they had puffer fish that were larger than the one I had previously seen. The girl told me they were very aggressive and they actually eat guppies. The puffers were in a tank with other fish and they seemed to be getting along fine. I really want to get a dwarf puffer...what should i do?

So about a month and a half ago I started a "fishless" cycle by just feeding the tank on and off for awhile. I've been testing it daily and everything's the same as when I started. Nitrates and nitrites are low, PH is pretty high, ammonia is low. There has been no spike in any of my readings. The water has been sorta cloudy for about two weeks now, but still no change in readings. Should I add fish to finish the cycle? Any ideas?

FYI its a 5 gallon tank, freshwater.

I have nineteen month old Silver Molly fry and one two-month old Black Molly fry.

1. What's the earliest I will be able to tell males from females?

2. What is the first obvious sign of gender they will show?

3. Do water conditions, feeding, et cetera affect sex at all?

4. How young do Mollies first become sexually mature?

5. Any other information on this topic. Give me everything you can find that relates.

-------------------

I have one adult female Silver Molly and one adult male Black Lyretail Molly. They usually are okay with one another, however, sometimes I catch him chasing her, biting her and depriving her of food. Problem is, I want them to breed. Is he doing this because he doesn't like her? Or is he trying to mate with her? I have her in a breeding net now. I'm afraid to put them together any longer. Again, please try and give me all the information you can find.

Thank you VERY MUCH in advance.

I have a 10-gallon tank with 1 male betta and 6 neon tetras in it. The betta does not seem to be threatening/chasing/engaging in aggressive behavior with the tetras (he just cruises around the tank, doin' his betta thing), but the tetras seem to be spending most of their time schooled up, hiding in the back corner of the tank behind some plants. Any thoughts? We don't want to have traumatized fish.

my boyfriend bought one of those "ugly fish" as my 3 year old calls it - that eats the algea and crap out of a fishtank because he was too lazy to clean the tank himself. well the beta fish that we had died and now my boyfriend says that i dont have to feed the fish - that there is still enough algea in the water for him to eat even though the other fish isnt there to crap all over. is this true? should i be feeding him or not?
