Most fish like water about 75-degrees. Gold fish can do well at that temperature but should be kept at 70-degrees. During the summer months I turn my heaters down to 72-degrees and the water heats up slowly during the day and cools down slowly during the night ( like natural environments )

goldfish choose 60degrees to room temp 70's. some more thing advantageous than that your searching at them getting ill alot. tropical fish variety seventy six-seventy 8 ish ranges, with discus round 80-80 5 ranges. some fish that are minnows like white clouds choose an same temp as goldfish yet will nonetheless do properly in hotter tanks. P.S a tank doesnt start up cycling till you position a fish in it, there are benefical micro organism that start up to type from the waste of the fish, they accually eat the ammonia and smash it down in to a lot less poisonous varieties i.e. nitrite and nitrates. you want to purchase some hardy species to start up your cycle which takes an finished month.

Hi. Well, this all depends upon what type of fish you have. If they are tropical, usually the temp ranges between 74-78. If they are goldfish, then you want to keep the temp around 70-72. Goldfish do not like warm water. Hope this helps

I have a gold fish, and there's no heater in his tank. I've had it 4 years.
My two 33g fresh water are between 78 - 82. I've never had any problems with them and i've had then almost 8 years.
My 82g salt is at 80. It's gone lower because it's really hard to keep a steady temperature with a tank that big, but generally it should be kept at 80.
Hope I could help.

I would imagine you are talking about freshwater fish, keep your tank at 77-78 F. Some fish like it a bit more, or less, but 77-78 is avg.

Fresh water, Tropical fresh water, or salt water????
Goldfish and guppies are happy in cooler water, but tropical freshwater guys need 75º-80ºF help pretty steadily as is the case in their natural environment.
