I have a tank specifically for guppies, I am breeding them to feed to my other fish. You need 3 females to every 1 male guppy. I have two batches of fry so far, within the last week.

First off you have way too many guppies for a 10 gallon tank. Second, you need at least 2 females for every male. For breeding in a 10 gallon tank you need 1 male and 2 females, this gives you room to keep some fry. Right now you do not have room for any fry because there are already too many fish in your tank. The temp needs to be at least 76 for optimal breeding conditions. I have an article on my website that explains guppy breeding in depth, look through it for more info.

Yeah, you have everything you need, I'm pretty sure. The only thing is this: guppies eat their fry, their young. Also, when mine were born they were incredibly small. It's possible you didn't see them and they were eaten too quickly. What you should do is provide plenty of places for them to hide. Provide floating cover and plants and rocks within the fishtank for them. If you find any, remove them and place them in a separate tank (a very small one will do just fine 'til they grow nearly completely). Since they are so small, they can't eat regular fish food, so what I was taught to do (and it worked excellently!) is to hard-boil an egg, and put a tiny bit of the yolk in the water. It'll dissove quickly into pieces so small that the baby fish will be able to ingest them.
Luck.
Also, you can tell the female is pregnant if the very back of her abdomen has a black dot on it. The under/side belly area, towards the tail is where you would see it.

The best thing to do is to get about 6 females and 4 males, that way the males have more to chose from. The temp could be a bit warmer, but I'm no expert on guppy breeding.

You need to increase the temperature in your tank. If you make it warmer, your fish will breed with no intervention on your part.

You'll see when your females get really large. At this point, you need to separate them from the others. You may be having babies now, but they'll be eaten if left in a large tank with adults.

Get a breeder's net that you can keep the female in when it gives birth, but make sure to take it out as soon as it's done or it'll eat the fry too!

Stress, temperature, ph, filtration...all of these could be factors. Stress from the ratio of males to females, temperature being low, ph being too high or low for breeding-fish can survive from a ph of 5-9 but they won't breed at the extreme ends, and lastly is the filtration being too high that maybe it sucked up any babies you had without you noticing.

I've never bred guppies. But I have attempted to breed quite a few females. In my efforts I have descoverd that about 1 pint of Jack Daniels usually helps to get the ball rolling.

I had the same problem...Its your male-female ratio...u should always hav more females then males....do u hav plants and some sort of grass? if u hav grass in your tank and your female to male ratio is right they should have babies in no time.Be sure to move the babies to a seperate tank so they dont get eaten.
