no fresh water fish can adapt to salt im sorry. this si why there are fresh tanks and salt tanks. ask any fish keeper and theyll tell you. dont listen to anyone who says they can retain in salt.

Some fish which happen to be kept in fresh water at the fish shop or pet store CAN be acclimated to full saltwater conditions, such as mollies(believe it or not) and certain puffers.

Mostly it's because these particular species are suited to brackish waters and the transition to full salt isn't far off.

Other types of fish (fresh & brackish) CAN'T be acclimated to salt water, it'll kill them.

yes Brahmani live in both some fish live in fresh water and move to salt water the bull shark why not a fish but a shark is offend seen in fresh water rivers

yes for a little while until the salt makes them sick. if you wan't to keep a freshwater fish don't put it in saltwater

yes, if introduced to the water very slowly (in other words, ad a small amount of salt (less than an eigth of a teaspoon every 3days to a week). any faster and the fish will die. do not try with expensive breeds or fragile fish.
