It is called "bloat" and he will die soon if you don't get some meds from the pet store

Actually, it may not be dead. Some fish get problems with their swim bladder which is what they use to control their buoyancy. I've had fish live for a fairly long time that had to swim upside down.

But generally, yeah, a floating bloated fish is usually dead.

Fish can contract a disease (actually I am not certain it is so much a disease as a syndrome) called bloat, it has something to do with the aquatic bladder filling with air and not deflating. If left untreated it is fatal. Most pet stores will carry the remedy (sorry I forget the name, but the pet store should know it). I would medicate ASAP if he is to the point of upsidedown allready.
Good luck, I hope he makes it.

That is never a good sign
Now if it was just floating upside down, it could just doing the back stroke.

Hopefully not every fish it the take is doing it.

oh no...i'm sorry to have to tell you this, but your goldfish has died. when they float upside down, that's usually a really good indicator of life with goldfish.

Aw, it sounds like your little fish has died. Ours swam sideways and then upside down, then they just floated. We had moved and they didn't make it. Just don't flush them. My husband clogged up our toilet trying to flush ours. They were pretty big goldfish.

yeah both get an air pump or top off the tank continuously. like once each and every 3 days should be strong. merely take the fish out and make effective that once you're refilling the tank there are various bubbles.
