people are still telling me that that is not enough room! I have one goldfish and right now it is in a little bowl and I change the water everyother day. My boyfriend just gave me a 10 gallon tank which I hope to have set up and in place by the end of the week. I have a coupon for a free goldfish which I was going to put in the tank also with my other goldfish, because I want them to play together and keep each other company. So now I don't know what, will the goldfish be lonely after being in a tank with so many fish at the pet store to coming back and being in my tank all by himself? Should I use that coupon to get him a free friend?

Ok, I've been thinking about getting a fish for my dorm because I love my pets and sadly, I cannot take them with me so I want some kind of pet in my room. Is a fish a good idea? If so what kind? My room is very small and I'm sharing with another girl so I probabaly need a small fish...something that can live happily in a small bowl.

I have one goldfish and a coupon to get another one free! So in my tank will be two goldfish. Now I heard goldfish like and can eat aquarium plants, so what kinds of plants should be put in the tank and how much do they cost?
I have also heard of putting algae eaters in with the goldfish. If I had two goldfish in a 10 gallon tank, how many algae eaters should be put in there also?
With the plants for the goldfish to eat and the goldfish waste for the algae eaters to waste the tank will be pretty much self sustaining, right?
Is there anything else I should know or should put in this tank?

the water in my newly set up tank is at a consistent 85-86 degrees F, which i know is too high. this is also exactly the room temp. i have my heater set at 78 so obviously it doesnt ever kick on because the room is so hot. i cant put in an air conditioner because there are no windows in that room and a fan isnt really gonna help. how to i get the water to cool down?? is there anything i can buy?? any help is greatly appreciated

I've had aquariums most of my life and have always use water conditioners to make the water liveable for my fish. But how long would you need to wait if you were to let the chlorine and such discipate naturaly? I've always heard 2 days. If so, does the size of the tank make a diiference?

I have a betta fish and I keep a mirror next to him so he can mess with it (attack it). I was told this was bad on a betta because they are fighting fish yet they make fish tanks with two sides where people are told to put a betta in each one. I have also read where people buy two male bettas and keep them in seperate tanks side by side. What's the difference if I keep another betta next to him or a mirror?

All of my tropical fish have tears and rips in thier tails and I don't know why. Also, thier fins are torn too. My platy is at the point where it only has about 3/4 of it's tail left.

ive had a few koi lost in the heat wave and its because blanket weed is letting off a gas which lowers the fish imune system and leaves them vunerable to parasites.the problem is under control but i hear that theres a device which introduces copper into the pool which iliminates blanket weed,is that the case?and does anyone know who stocks this hardware?
