It’s probable that fish do sleep in some form, whether slowing down or coming to a complete stop, whether hiding or doing it right in the open.

Yes, fish sleep. When they sleep fish don't move. Also, they do not close their eyes because half of their brain is awake and the other half isn't, so it appears as if they are not sleeping but they are.

Yes, they do sleep. But they don't close their eyes because tropical fish don't have eyelids!!!!!! They just rest on the bottom or in some plants while the lights are off at night.

Yes most fish sleep. Most will drop to the bottom and lean against something, or lay on their sides. A few, like beta, will sometimes sleep near the surface.

Last night I went out in the kitchen at like 3am and my goldfish was swimming all over, but my betta fish, the one that usually swims right up to me and starts doing tricks and everything was absolutely still. I was out there for about 5 minutes and the whole time he never moved! He must have been sleeping! It was so cool to see that.
