If you have a clause in your "contract" with buyers, that states that you will take the puppy back if they have any problems... Have you ever had to take one back? And if so what do you do with it? Rehome, keep& spay or neuter?

I'm not new to Chow Chow breed this is my for Chow and 2 male chow. Right now I have a 1 1/2 voilet female that is very well trained and kind spoiled. And my wife and I just got a 20 wk old Red Male chow. He is very good beside when I have to disapline him for little things. He yeps and tries to nip at me. The last male I had I played top dog with and really had no problems braking him of the habits that he had, and it kind of was like talking to a kid. And my female now is the same way. I want the new pup to obey and baically follow verbal orders. But how do I disapline him with "TOP DOG" technics when he is yeppin and nipping at me. It's like he is either afraid of me or he is trying to be in Charge. Can anyone with chows help me out??? Thanks for you time...

I just noticed a type of pimple on my dog's neck. It's like a tiny balloon, but big enough to hold between my fingers. It's about 1/4 inch long and soft. I could easily pull it off, but I fear it would cause pain and maybe bleed. What can this be?

Our sweet dog is 16 years old now and just can't seem to hold her bladder for much time at all. Other than her accidents, she's as spry as a puppy. Do doggie diapers work? If she makes it outside without wetting, do I take them off and let her relieve herself outdoors...to keep some of her doggie dignity? She often tries to make it outside, but will have an accident before we get out the door.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

What's a backyard breeder? Someone who breeds pets in their backyard?? I breed Terrier Spaniels (Terrier's and Cocker Spaniels), Akita Inu's, Terrier's and Chihuahua's. All my dogs are approved for breeding from my vet, and they're all wonderfully kept pets as well as mama's. And my dogs are well taken care of. My puppies are health-checked and approved before being sold. I don't breed any dogs without having studied every aspect of their personalities, and know what i'm getting into. I am a longtime (but now retired) yorkie breeder.. i have had several Cocker Spaniels, with me until death. I am a big fan of Akitas, and know everything practically about them. Terrier's are my prized showdogs for two years. And Chihuahuas...They've been my breed for years. I'm very careful to explain all the responsibilities when selling my dogs, and I don't just ship 'em off anyplace without knowing the who. And this is just me, my friends are all much more experienced breeders, and much better than I. After eight breeding, I'm still learning. I'm twenty seven., I'm currently living in Chicago Illinois but I travel several places around Illionis, and I meet lots of breeders. Almost all breeders I've met take such good precautions, and are all loving to their pets. Wonderful breeders if you ask me. So what's this junk about bybs

One of its hind legs kind of sticks out. When she walks it doesnt really touch the ground. I've seen it for about 2 days and im really worried. I've been searching for a question like this and the person who asked the question said that their vet said that it will heal in about 3 days.

Dose any one hate this fad as much as i do! Here in australia designer doys eg- goldendoodles and labrodoodles are out of controll. They are everywhere and it seems everyone wants to jump aboard and get one. And the most ridiculous thing is these mutts are costing more than purebread dogs! I show standard poodle and everytime we have a litter people are asking for a "***** on full registration " without conditions. On full registration means it is entire and hasnt been desexed. This anoys me because genuine people that are trying to get into showing poodles basicly CANT because breaders are to scared to sell puppies to new people incase they turn out to use this dog later on over another mutt!

Winter is coming soon and IF i get a dog, i`d have no idea how to walk it or atleast get it some exercise when theres a big snow or if theres ice on the sidewalk or streets & if its like 20* outside. We have a smallish house & the dog i might get would be a Border Collie.

I read that they need much exercise or have something to do.

The dog might most likely be a Puppy, not a full-grown Dog.

HELP!

I have a pure bred AKC registered Golden Retriever. My cousin has a golden retriever and she got her golden fixed. After she got her fixed her golden started having blatter control problems. I have heard that this can be avoided if the dog has a litter of puppies before getting fixed. I am planning on breeding her once with a AKC golden retriever. I am going to wait untill she is 2 years old so I can get her OFA and CERF tested. I will be finding the puppies good screened homes before they are born. My question is, am I a backyard breeder?

If you have dog, please indicate whether you sleep with them or not. A reason for doing so would nice too. Also, if you think of your wife or husband as a dog...lol ..you can indicate that too.

Sam is a lovable dog, but we feel he may be in a depressed state. My sister just married and moved out and my mom and I are in and out the house alot. He is here alone maybe 8 hours per day while we work. We do play with him daily and he goes for walks each day. I'm just concerned one day he'll eat the wrong thing from the trash and taking the trash out every day before we leave can be a costly solution.

My puppy is a german shep/lab mix. that is 5 months old.
She has a crate that she LOVES to go in. I take her out to go to the bathroom every time i take her out of it, play with her, feed her, and right before we go to sleep. She will pee outside right when i take her out but she refuses to poop out there. We scrubbed our carpet so there is no smell of pee or poop but she literally will wait until she gets inside. We do not rub her nose in it, but when we catch her in the act, we stop her and take her to the proper area outside. She will hold it in during our walks then go in the house and do her business. We really dont know what to do about it. any suggestions would be very helpful! thank you!
