in company she is fine but out in public when she sees a single submissive dog she will play attack. She is not aggressive but I need to quash this behaviour. Do you have any suggestions. She is a lurcher (Collie cross).

I've owned a few mad dogs like that!
Basically you can't have her off the leash until she gets over it. You can put her on a really long rope if you like. When she goes over to it let her sniff but as soon as she starts showing the behaviour you don't want say "no" firmly and give a quick pull on the leash. If you want to go right back to basics then keep her on a short leash and walk around lots of other dogs. When she goes to play attack turn her around and make her sit. Correct her every time she tries it.

I have a very sweet, non-aggressive15lb. Westie who sounds like a viscous attack dog when she mets another dog, she just wants to play. I usually let her greet the dog (sniffing) and then we continue on our walk. She's always on leash and seems satisfied with a brief sniff. Good luck.

I have a working cocker spaniel who is the same - he looks like he is going in for the kill but he just wants to play. I find distraction is the best defence - when you see her approach another dog, let her say hello and the minute she starts play fighting, call her name and start running or walking away so she follows.

I have a staffordshire bull terrier ***** who is as docile as you like amongst people but put her near another dog and she turns into a psycho ***** from hell...its nature and there is not much you can do about it, sorry. Keep her on a lead when you are out in public thats about all you can do

you have a hunting dog there is nothing you can do but to give her to a hunting person it is in the breed you can not domesticate a hunting dog so why did you get it in the first place a lurcher is a hunting dog so do not try and make it what it is not if you are not a country person do not try to domesticate a hunting dog
