I woke up the other morning and saw that one of my Shelties right hind leg was kind of sticking out to the side. Because I don't rely on the answers to another question I took her immediantly to the vet. He took x-rays and lo and behold somehow she had dislocated her hip. Now she is in a Thompson splint, but will heal up just fine because I had the problem taken care of immediantly. TAKE YOUR DOG TO THE VET, just because someone elses dog had similar symptoms and their vet told them to give it 3 days does not mean your dog has the same thing. The only way to know what is wrong with her is to have the vet diagnos it.

I've job-shadowed at a vet's office a few times now and saw a case like this when it came in. Somehow, it probably was dislocated, but if not, it could be broken as well.
It is recommended that you call your vet office and get your dog in immediately, as this type of injury is VERY PAINFUL for your dog. The only way of knowing what type of injury it is, is of course through X-RAY'S. Your vet will best advise you of the diagnosis and proper treatment for your dog.
Unless you're a trained vet or superman with x-ray vision then take it to the vet, she is probably in a good deal of pain.

There is no way for anyone on the internet to properly answer that one ... the dog needs to be seen by your vet to have the leg checked out to see what is wrong with it. Think about it -- if YOU see that something is wrong with it, don't you think it is likely something worth having a professional examine?

You should take her to a vet, it sounds like she's limping. There is probably something wrong with her leg and it should definately be checked out by a vet.

It sounds like you need to take your dog to the vet. He or she could be in a lot of unnecessary pain.

i think it would be best to go to the vet .A.S.A.P. it may be something small but it could be something major if you take your dog to the vet they can give it a check and give it treatment if required or tell you the problem
