My dalmatian seems to be afraid of the back gardena ll of a sudden. She used to pee there in the mornings before I took her out for a normal walk, but now I have to walk out with her, or she just refusues at times to even go there. Another neighbour who has a dog, which she barks at and doesnt like , and it doesnt like her , might be the problem as when she started barking, I was told by the vet to squirt her with a wee bit of water (i felt bad), but sis it anyway.. Is it my fault she is like the?or , as I thought, someone else has done something to her? We have 2 neighbours who have acess tot he back garden.Or is it that since i have been off on mat leave and was more able to take her to the park right accross the street ( i was more mobile in June than I am now), that she now preferrs to pee at the park ?

My dog does something very strange, and I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on this. First of all, I should mention that she is a mix of black lab and golden retriever, and is about 8 years old.

When we go to my family's camp, we noticed that she liked to take plastic water bottles (bottled water) and take them somewhere. He didnt think anything of it, but then we noticed that she was walking on the beach, and pulling rocks out with her mouth. Once she has the rock in her mouth, she will walk around the camp three times with it. Always exactly three times. And then we didnt know what she did with that rock.

But one day, my dad was doing work under the camp. He saw probably 30 water bottles. They were half buried in holes my dog dug, sticking up in the air, always with the cap in the ground. Next to every bottle was a rock she grabbed out of the beach.

What the heck is she doing this for? Its not concerning, just interesting, and a little strange!

I live in Calif. I had a dog called Buffie and he was a sweet Collie. Had him in the 70s. However, I hardly see any pet owners with this breed. Why?

They have had the dog (a schnauzer) for less than a week. He was with his previous family for six yrs but due to a new baby they felt he deserved a home where he would have more time and attention devoted to him. The dog has previously had liver surgery and is still tender around the scar area. He may have bitten my mum because she accidentally caught this area...she's not sure. Should we just put the bite down to the fact the dog is probably very unsettled at the moment getting used to his new surroundings? The previous owners said he can sometimes get snappy and they were worried that their small children would aggravate him into biting them. Should my parents give him longer to settle in and see if it happens again before giving him back to the previous family? All you doggy people out there, please help!!! Thanks

My dog just pooped on the carpet, and this happens whenever she gets sick. It is like a slimy goop. I was wondering should I just put her down and get a new one?

My cousin dropped her 5 month old Chihuahua puppy off for me to watch yesterday morning until about Saturday afternoon. I've never had him for more than a day, so last night was his first night staying overnight. He ate his meals yesterday and was fine. Today, we woke up at around 7:00 am. I took him outside to use the bathroom, then offered him some food. He didn't eat it so I thought it was earlier than the time he usually eats. I offered him food a few hours later, and again he didn't touch it. I left the food out to see if at any point in the day he'd eat it. I took him outside for several potty breaks throughout the day and brought him to the food bowl after he came inside. He wouldn't touch the food. Now, it's 4:00 pm. and he hasn't had a thing to eat all day. I'm extremely worried that he's sick, but I'm just thinking he misses his owner and just doesn't want to eat. Should I be worried?

To switch from puppy food to adult dog food?

I'm sure it's written on the back of the dog food bag, but I'm curious and at work.

Thanks!

Ok i do NOT like in anyway dog fighting thats why im asking rather then trying to find out myself lol. I know american bulldogs are like pits on steroids. And i also know that there like WAY WAY stronger then any pit bull. BUT.... i know that pit bulls are an assertive dominate breed. And i know there very strong too. BUT american bulldogs are way stronger.

I have a 4 years old daughter, and my husband and I really want to get a dog. We never had a dog before and we live in an apartment in a city - its a very large apartment though. I am nto sure what breed we should get. I know it should probably be a small dog, but do you have more suggestions?
