I am dead against what he has done, but for sure this is not a capital case that calls for the death penalty!!!

This petition is to stop him from playing football, not for killing him.
My guts tell me in cases of animal abuse, "Make the punishment fit the crime," and if I was the one to mete out his sentence, I might very well do that. But I'm not. The courts are in charge.
So lock him up and throw away the key. For at least 5 years.
PS: I have already signed a petition to stop him from ever again getting paid by the NFL .

Sounds reasonable to me. What a piece of crap loser. Good job Mr. 100 million dollar man. It shows that you can take the thug out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the thug. The only race issue here is the human race. He is a despicable person not fit to be included in the human race. Don't forget the other worthless scumbags that are his cohorts. They all deserve similar punishment

maybe not the electric chair, but definitely some prison time. he needs to be barred from professional sports, loose all endorsements, and have to have 1000's of hours of community service cleaning dog parks and working for the shelters or humane societies. the NAACP also needs to stop defending him just because he's black and realize he needs to pay for this atrocity!!!!!!

No, but I want him to go to prison for well more than a year, never play in the NFL again, lose all of his endorsement contracts and lose the respect of all his fans. He had everything and I hope he loses it all for what he did.
I don't think more violence is going to mitigate the violence he caused.

Come on -- be reasonable! The death penalty should only be used for the most heinous crimes which include the murder of another human. He should definitely go to prison, though.

I read something in my local newspaper...They said he should still play football, and when he goofs up or loses, shock him or hang him...do whatever he did to the dogs...

Has he actually been convicted yet? I hadn't realised the trial had finished.
The petition you highlight only goes as far as asking for him to be jailed - not executed.
