Today I took her for a walk and she was getting to jump on me but I caught her in time... She looked at me and I told her a strong sturdy "NO" and pointed toward the direction that we were walking and she LISTEN!!!! When walking back home, she didn't even put up a fight...

My question is: How long do I continue to give her a strong sturdy "NO" until she realize that I am the boss????

I have a 12 year old german shepard/ akita/ rottweiler who is continually having coughing fits. About a month ago I took her to the vet with a 104 degree temperature and he prescribed me 2 rounds of clavomox. When she was on the medication she seemed to be doing better. However, she's finished the medication a few weeks ago and beginning to cough until the point of nearly throwing up or throwing up, depending upon if she's eaten anything within in the last hour or so.
I have no idea what to do other than worry that she may have cancer.

I've had countless recommendations to feed my dog organ meat. So, I bought some calf liver.

Is it good for him and why?
How should I make it?

FYI... I feed him Canidae lamb & rice formula dry food.

I have a 5 year old shih-tzu, Charlie. He has some issues. He has separation anxiety really bad. About a week ago we had a really bad thunderstorm one night. Charlie went crazy. I have never seen him that bad over a storm. He was panting and breathing heavy and crying. He was pacing back and forth. Ever since that night he hasn't been able to relax at night. He cries every night now. As soon as I get into bed. Usually he just sleeps at the bottom of the bed. I tried ignoring him but it's been a week and nothing has changed. I am not getting much sleep. If anyone has any questions please help. Thanks

theres is loads of people giving rotties and pittbulls bad names on here it makes me mad that there is alot of people who hate these dogs well do you now what you are all wrong its the owners who bring them up they have made a bad name for them thats why they have got a bad rep now, i have a male rottie and a female pittbull, and they are the most gentle dogs i have ever seen they both protect me and my 3 year old daughter. they have the bad rep because the owners are bringing them up to fight with other pitts etc they build there muscles up with streoids which is wrong and now it is unfair to the really good owners who want to keep there loving pets you shouldnt go off the news and the papers about these dogs because they make everything sound worse than what it really is i just want to get my point across to those who are bad mouthing these to dogs they are the most inteligent animals and i wouldnt get rid of mind my little girl loves her to dogs thanks for reading

I took in two dogs last winter because they were newborn puppies, born to a dog kept outside. They were about to face a severe freeze and snow storm and I couldnt bare for the poor things to be out in the cold. I kept them in my house but was unable to house train them since I have never had a dog in the house before. I cant really afford obedience school or any thing like that to help me train them either. I lost my job about a year ago so things are tight since, and I have a 4 year old daughter too and she comes first. I love the dogs, I really do, but my husband isnt too fond of them messing in the house, and it isnt at all sanitary for my daughter. So since the weather started to get nice I put the dogs outside. They have dog houses and always have cool water and food, and are really happy to be out in the yard with room to play. I invite them in the house and they wont come in. The problem, now summers comming its starting to get really hot and I dont want them to suffer the heat.

He is a 3 year old blue dobie named jackson. I have tried attacking chicken wire to the fence to make it too wobbly to climb-didnt work! I need to know a way to keep him in the yard because we raise free ranging chickens and hes started killing them so he needs to be in the back yard unless we are outside with him. Any ideas-with out spending a couple hundred bucks?

My chcolate lab is almost 5mo and is getting spayed tomorrow morning. I just talked to the vet and they said no food after midnight and just a little bit of water in the morning.

What other questions should I ask? I am nervous-although I know its routine and that she will be fine. I don't want to sound like a crazy over protective pet-parent! But any suggestions on what you would ask them??

Like types of antheshia? I dont know. I feel like I don't know enough about the procedure to even ask the right questions, am I being too trusting of the vets in the assumption that they will do a great job?

I have an 8 year old female terrier who has become incredibly stubborn about going outside. She frequently refuses to go outside unless she is carried or pulled and then getting her into the yard is impossible. It has gotten so bad that she won't go outside and then 2 minutes later she either poops or pees on the floor. Could doggie prozac or something help? Could this be a medical problem or just stubborness?

Hello,

I have a (full pedigree) 6 year old Springer Spaniel who I am thinking about having spayed, due to the increased risk of uterine infection after about the age of 8 (she was a rescue dog we have had since last year). However, before I ask the vet to do it, I need to rule out the possibility of her having puppies ever, and to make sure it is the best choice for her long term health, to have her spayed. The vet has said that if we do it, she needs to be spayed in the next two weeks, or otherwise wait until after she has her next season. I have small children and a busy life, and I don't think having puppies will be the best option because of that. I am partly thinking of the financial rewards of rearing puppies, and the joy for the dog to be able to have her own puppy (we would definitely keep one for her), but am also aware that there are plenty of dogs out there desperate for homes, without me bringing more into the world. Any helpful advice would be much appreciated.
