You know I don't feed my dogs any organ meats at all. It give then the runs something awful. Liver is very high in fat and Iron.
Your already feeding your dog a excellent dog food with everything your dog needs nutritionally.
If you really want to give him the liver than I would suggest just a small portion and then see how your dog reacts to it.
I dont know to even suggest how to cook it. I've never cooked it before. I personally think it's gross!

So many canned dog foods have liver and I think it is way too much liver to feed to a dog everyday. I have found certain varieties without liver but liver is a cheap ingredient and pet companies use it in their foods. Read the ingredient lists. Giving a couple of treats each week with liver is enough liver.

Calve liver is ok for dogs. Serve it raw if it is fresh.. Freeze dried liver make great training treats!!!
I don't give my dog too much liver because i fear of all the toxins in today food supply. The liver is where many toxins are stored! Aslo as mentioned above about vitamin A problems, but you really need a large amount of vitamin A to cause bone problems. Moderation is key!
Good luck... and very good choice on the kibble..

The owner of the dog needs to know how to "operate" the dog, same way you can get into a car that's in perfect running order but if you don't know how to drive you won't have much luck making the car go anywhere. If the owner doesn't know how to maintain the training, the dog will soon become untrained again. Read more here https://tinyurl.im/pDkwu
People seem to think that once a dog is trained, that's it. Not true. You must reinforce the dog's training every single day in some way. It's best if the owner and the dog go together to get trained. As a professional trainer once said to me "We can train any dog in 2 days. It takes longer to train the owners

My dogs get homemade meals that I prepare once a month and freeze in containers that hold enough for a week. I boil fresh meat,, no seasoning added, any flesh is removed along with fat,and bones before adding to vegetables, rice, and oatmeal I throw the rice in the broth and let cook throughout the process so its mushy, and add the oatmeal as the mixture cools. When cool, I then run it through the food processor. to and mince. Do NOT add onions or garlic to any meats you cook for them. Also, you can look online for a specific information to make sure youre adding vegetables that provide much needed nutrients to protect against most problems breed specific dogs are prone to. The vet told me if I have any question as to whether the food may not provide all nutrients needed, just give the pet a multi-vitamin in addition..

I buy Bare Bites which is 100% All natural Human Grade Beef Liver treats for dogs. Its dehydrated, not freeze dried or jerky type and nothing else in it - just liver. The also have it in sprinkle form so you can put it in with their dog food for the health benefits. My dogs go bananas for it and its super healthy! Your local pet shop should carry it or you can find deals on line. www.barebites.com

It's good for a dog, but up to a point. It's high in cholesterol, plus the liver is the organ that all the wastes go through - you don't want to be feeding it as a regular part of your dog's diet - just a treat.
You can boil it first, then bake it in the oven at low temp. to dry it out. It makes a great treat as a reward for any kind of training.

Go ahead and boil the liver, then cut it up and give as a treat for your dog. Don’t give him too much, since too much can cause more problems than help. Rather than liver, try some unsalted sardines as treats (about three small per meal), or mixed in with his food.
