About a month ago I posted a question about a neighbor who lives a few doors down who threatened to kill my dog. Cops warned him not to speak to me nor touch my dog...He's upset because she hates him and barks at him when he passes our house. She is on Invisible Fence and has NEVER crossed the line in the two years she's been on it.(And she has NEVER been outside unattended)..Anyway he continues to taunt her (reving his motorcycle and slowing down in front of my house (he claims he is scared of her yet he taunts her at least 3-4 times a week), and he laughs. Now I am sick to my stomach EVERYDAY fearing for my dogs safety from this madman..Im afraid to take her out even though Im with her, and scared to walk her alone...This man is nuts and there is no guessing what he'd do if he saw her and I walking alone. So my question is do I contact police again? (They are VERY much on my side, and understand). Why is he harrassing my poor dog (shes a shepherd/cattle dog mix 50 pounds)?

If your boyfriend, and two kids 17 and 11 each had a dog and they all left you to care for them. There are three dogs in the house and I love them all, none of them are mine but I am left to feed, water and clean the back yard. I am frustrated by this and I have said something to them, but I am looked at with the deer in the headlight look. Don't say get rid of the dogs, I don't dump animals anymore than a child. They may not be mine but someone has to be responsible for them, but don't I have a right in a way to be frustrated by this. Would you be?

We have had one golden retriever dog for 10 years now and she is lucky to get the attention of 5 family members. But we have learned recently that one golden retirever named Kylie needs adoption. We are considering adopting her, but we feel that Bear (our old dog) might feel upset or angered towrd Kylie for stealing her attention. Do you think we should adopt Kylie?

I have a 8 month old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier who started chewing furniture etc.... before everyone asks, he goes walking with me about 2 miles a day, and then we play catch for almost 45 minutes also. he has TONS of toys from plush to chewing types. he is allergic to alot of foods so i dont offer rawhide or chewies becuase they give him stomach problems. he lost all his baby teeth so i know he sint teething. i tried freezing one of his toys o make it harder and colder... now all fo a sudden he started chewing things. I have done it all from sprays to putting his face to where he chewed and sternly enforced NO! or LEAVE IT! I do not want to crate him, I am only away for less then 4 hours if even that. i don't get why he started to do this. I guess it can be he might be bored, but is crating him neccessary?

I have a male Yorkie who I've planned on breading since I got him. However, dut to complications when he was younger with groomers his ears will not stand up. I have talk to vets and other breeders that say it's not genetic and can't be passed down. However, I've heard that some breeders wont use him for a stud even with papers since he wont look like a true Yorkie with floppy ears. Does Appearance Really Matter if it not Genetic when looking for a ***** or a stud?

ok i have a 2yr old min/pin chihuahua mix and hes currently working with a trainer on his fear aggression issues... hes so great to me and people hes used to but strangers and other dogs he goes mad on! soooo when people come over he barks like crazy.. we got him a gentle leader collar which has helped and he will calm down while their there but when they leave he barks and follows them out like an ankle bitter. i dont get it.. he even does it to my roommate who he loves.. but he dosent to it to me... its not a seperation anxiety thing or he would to it to me and have trouble after people are gone.. but he just follows them out all mean and snipping then when the door closes he is totally calm.. i feel so bad for my company and my roommate.. its really frustrating and i cant always be there to stop him.. like if im sleeping and she heads out... ugh what can i do

Hi, me and my roomate have a 8 month old mutt (looks like a golden lab). Until now, she has been kept in her crate during the day while we are at work (9am-4pm) and at night (11pm-6am). One of us comes home for lunch to let her out for 30 mins. We were thinking of starting to let her out of her crate during the day while we are at work. She usually waits until we take her out to do her business, but she has had a few accidents, the most recent being about 2 weeks ago. As far as chewing, she still has a habit of eating non-edible things.
Is it a good idea to start leaving her out of her crate so she can not be cooped up all day? Or is she too young to trust to not tear up or mess up the house?

I have an eight month old German Shephard Dog and she's really funny.
We have an old WWI jeep in our backyard and she dug her own little fortress under there. Does anyone know why? I'm sure it's just boredom, but she sure seems to love to dig more than dogs usually do.
I also had another question.. does anyone have a German Shephard that DOES NOT like water?
She despises the stuff. If she didn't have to drink it, she wouldn't!
Well maybe hate isn't the word, but it's like a million degrees where I live and she refuses to be wetted. Baths are super hard.
I tried using the hose, I tried introducing her to a tub-like thing full of standing water.
Does NOT like the stuff.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to help her be less afraid of water, and maybe even mold her into a water-oriented dog?

At first she hated car rides, but now if the door's open she hops right in. I'm not sure if the same thing could happen with water, so please, any advice is appreciated!

Hi,
My mums on holiday and im staying at here house to mind the cats. However ive noticed the man next door has two dogs and i feel so sorry for them. I dont know if there being mistreated or if its okay to do these kind of things to dogs im not sure wethere i should report it or not??? My mum has mentioned things before but has been to frightened to report the man incase he poisons her cats. This does sound a bit far fetched i iknow but apparentley hes a bit wierd.
Anyway whilst ive been here ive noticed he leaves them tied up locked in a shed with no window or doors opened. You can hear them howling and crying i there all through the night. Surely the warm weather in that conditions would be so harsh.
But then he does take them for a 15 minute walk ever evening - so then i think he must care.
But some nights hes in the garden screaming at them calling them t**ts???
what do u think is hould do. I dont wanna report him if its nothing but i dont wanna leave it if its wrong.help

I have a Great Dane who is almost 2 yrs old. He is extremely hyper and to be honest, I do not get to spend much time with him. I work two jobs...I didn't when I got him otherwise I wouldn't have gotten a pet at all. I adore him, but he plays too rough and my 8 yo son is scared of him because of his size. We tried training when I first got him, but I was told he wasn't ready because he wouldn't pay attention at all. Just wanted to play with the other dogs in the class. He is pretty uncontrollable and I wonder if it is too late for him to be trained properly. I feel guilty altogether for having him because he doesn't get much attention, but do not think I could place him in a good home if I can't get him under control.

I live in an a community of homes run by an H.O.A that does not know how to get one of our fellow owners to pick up after their dog. The owner is very clever in that he takes his dog out at very odd hours for his dog to do his business on neighbors lawns. I have an idea who it is but have no proof and was never an eye witness. Would love any reasonable suggestions!
The dog owner has no regard for our state law to pick up after his dog. 98% of the community comply with the state law and want action. Thank you in advance for your help

I want to know if any of the raw food advocates can find actual scientific evidence from studies which proves that feeding a raw diet is better for dogs than feeding high-quality kibble? I'm asking for actual research studies with the information from reputable universities, etc.

I don't want any hearsay. I want real, documented facts. If you can provide it, I'll stop telling people not to feed raw. But I'm still not feeding it to my dogs.
