My dog loves baby carrots! They are a really healthy treat and they also help to clean their teeth. You can also add a little bit of peanut butter to the carrot before you give it to them. Have you ever been to www.DogChannel.com? They have really good articles about homemade treats that you can make for your dogs.

Most people food should be avoided but you can give them most vegetables-NO ONIONS-apples oranges are fine too but stay away from raisins grapes and bananas. Stay away from anything processed and high in fat because it can cause a whole host of diseases. White rice, plain yogurt, and cottage cheese are very good when the dog has an upset stomach. Tomato juice is very good for them and helps stop the burned grass from urine. Chicken and trukey are good as far as meat goes too. Any human food you give should be in small amounts and only once in awhile unless you plan to do a R.A.W or BARF diet.

Buy chicken hot dogs, cut them into thin slices and microwave until dried out - 4 or 5 minutes. If you want smaller ones, cut the slices in half before drying. Make good treats, not messy to handle, keep well.
Just don't make treats too big a part of your dog's diet. Most of their calories should come from a good high quality dog food.

I'm a firm believer in not giving dogs "people" food so they will never snub their noses at dog food which, if it's a quality brand, has exactly what they need. The only "real people" food my dogs get are mini carrots for treats and they dearly LOVE them. That's a nutritious snack you can give your dog and he'll consider it a real treat.

Some of the items you're suggesting are NOT dog food. I do hope that you're in the UK where it is now a criminal offence to feed unsuitable food to ANY pet. The legislation changed on 6th April 2007, and was obviously made necessary by bozos who shouldn't have dogs. I do hope that someone knows you and has you prosecuted for incorrect care of a pet.
It's not just neglect, you are being purposely harmful.

little raw carrots, green beans, a little bit of a banana you are eating or a few bites of an apple you're having! NO grapes!
:) a little internet research will help u, becoz ppl give their dogs many things that aren't good for them with an attitude of they're doing just fine. Don't u actually want to know whats healthy for your dog, not just what theyd like to have? just do your homework!

You can feed your dog anything in moderation, apart from the foods on this list:
http://www.hsus.org/pets/pet_care/protect_your_pet_from_common_household_dangers/foods_potentially_poisonous_to_pets.html
Dogs are carnivores so they appreciate meat the best -- chicken, turkey, pork, beef, duck, venison, game birds, etc. Raw ideally but they can also be fed cooked.
Little slices of cheese or pepperoni make excellent treats as does dried liver.
Most fruits and veggies, bar the ones on that list, can be fed.
So basically, if it is HEALTHY and not on that list, you can feed it. Enjoy!

dogs love ice cream - but not a lot!!! just a couple of tablespoons. remember its a treat. and a lot of dogs can not tolerate much dairy.
they usually love the following but again not a lot - just small nibbles - cheese pasta scrambled eggs peanut butter
our dog gets table scraps - yes people will tell you not to, but it isn't gonna kill the dog to have a bit of gravy and potatoes and meat.......check for bones first!
our dog loves fruit....not oranges...but is crazy about everything else.
[corn and peas are hard to digest so we don't give them to our dog. no fish cause i'm paranoid i might have missed a bone or two. onions are bad for dogs!!!!!]
he is crazy about hot dogs - cold! loves toast with peanut butter - again just little nibbles.
we do not give our dog junk food like cheetos and chips ..... too much crap in it!
remember dogs need a balanced diet jst like we do, and the odd treat isn't going to hurt him/her!
introduce things one at a time and watch for upset tummy and/or diaherra. if that occurs then you know not to give him anymore of that particular food. also we tried the green denta-bones, gave him one and our dog got the 'runs' really bad and everything coming out of him was green! never again. but he adores pigs ears and they haven't bothered him but he only gets one a week.
have fun with your new pet!

Milkbones. Honest, it's how I came up with this ID. However, I get the smallest ones I can and break them in half. Even though she is a doberman I dont want a fat dog, and snacks like this are high in calories. Also, an occasional rawhide, no flavored one, just white ones, only about once a month or less. Dogs don't know when to stop eating.

The two treats my dogs love are cheese and vanilla ice cream. But keep in mind that these are just treats, tiny amounts once in a while. Cheese has lots of salt and ice cream lots of sugar and fat. Reserve these for special occasions and give just enough for them to taste!
