The other day, I saw some on her tummy. They were round, red spots. But today, I saw some in her big, floppy ears! She's a Yellow Lab. The poor thing, I see small red dots on the inside of the ears. Any advice?? Thank you!

Read this story about what happened to this officer.

"South Bend Officer Loses Finger During Dog Training

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A South Bend police officer lost a finger after it got stuck in his new police dog's collar during a training exercise.

Sgt. Steve Noonan says he was reaching for an animal treat on the ground when his right index finger got caught in the dog's choke collar on Wednesday. The dog pulled away while the finger was stuck, and three-quarters of the finger was ripped off.

Doctors could not reattach the finger because the damage was too severe.

Noonan was released from the hospital Thursday. Things could have been worse as he is left-handed and the finger he lost is on his right hand.

Noonan's supervisor says the injury was bizarre, though officers often get their hands caught in the dog collars."

Has this ever happened to you?? It makes you realy think now. I have gotten my fingers caught before with nothing more serious than bruising.

My Maltese was recently neutered, and so he had the cone on his head for 2 weeks and I didn't comb him because he was in pain and it was hard with the cone. So, he's now been shaved down to a very short coat. How long will it take to grow back?

We are looking to relocate (Oregon to North Carolina) and a 4 day drive in a car/moving truck will be very uncomfortable for my 110lb dobie. Has anyone ever shipped/flown your pet so that there is less shock on them?
I want what is best for him, if not a good idea, then I will not bother looking into it. If ok to do, can someone recommend a good service?
thanks,

I am attempting to find a puppy carrier for my Yorkie. I like the sophisticated-purse look, small, can hide him at one moment, but yet he can poke his head out later. I want it to be comfortable for him though and not feel as though he can't see the outside world, like he's in a box. I'm a fan of Puchi, Creature Couture, and Tara Boone but those run pretty expensive. I want quality and cute but for under $200. Is this feat possible and if so, where?

She likes to chew on sticks she finds so I thought hook worms but I was told that you can see worms in the dogs feces if they have them. Is this true. Is this something simple or do I need to take her to the vet?

Our Mini Schnauzer (age 9) has had 2 operations to remove stones, and has been C/D for last year or so with lettuce the only snack, but has redeveloped stones again. Vet not happy with 3rd Operation prospect and put her on 2/3 can S/D canned food daily, supposedly dissolve them - NO other food allowed - CAN this work? - How long can she stay on the S/D alone (Instructions seem to indicate not a good idea to to use solely, but not clear if that is a mandate) - We are supposed to get another X-Ray when the 24 Cans are about gone, but if NOT gone, we don't know what to do (vet has little to say on that worry) - 3rd operation?? Stay on S/D Cans forever? - Go back to C/D (still have 50 Lbs dry C/D) - Psyche up for a loss again (our 2nd mini w/that problem)??? - Any alternative Suggestions????
What CAN we do, folks, we are in our late 60's and she is our wonderful, protective companion.. Thanks 'n G'Bless ---

Hi im very curious and would love to hear your opinions. this is how it goes: I got a deposit on a male (shar-pei) puppy after i explained everything about the pei's i asked if she had done her research on the breed and ask if she was sure this was the breed for her. she said yes and payed me a deposit to hold the puppy for her. he was the only male in the litter so i had a lot of people wanting him that i had to turn away. anyways all the puppies went in for there check up on the eyes and 3 pups needed eye tacking one of the pups was the male. after we brought them home i emailed everyone to let them know how the vet appointment went. everything was fine other than the eye tacking . 5days later she emailed me and siad she was going to collegde soon so was having second thoughts about the puppy. then a day after that i recieved another email saying she wants her deposit back cause thepuppy is unhealthy cause his eye tacking.. should she get her deposit back? the puppy is healthy.

When I tell people my Boxers are ACA registered they always say, "Oh," and stick thier noses up in the air. I just happened to fall in love with a Boxer whose father is AKC show dog and his mother was ACA beloved pet. I do all the health screening, pedigree research and everything that AKC does, just with ACA papers. And I have bred my Boxers to produce Boxers that fit the AKC and ABC standards of the breed. I know my dog will never be Best in Show, but I love him more than any other dog I have ever had. He is what the breed is supposed to be.

well 2day when i went outside i decide not 2 even make eye contact with my dogs so when i opened the door and didnt give eye contact they actually were relaxed and didnt run 2 all wild and pumped up as usual and i waz surprised,
y is it that when i give eye contact 2 them thats when they get all excited and jump on me but when i dont they just walk 2 me and dont show any sign of pumped up energy or excitement??
