My dog has been continuously going through the garbage even after I have fed her. She used to do this when I adopted her (four years ago) but stopped since then until now. I don't understand why and want to make her stop without getting too drastic.

I am getting a puppy very soon that will be from 8 weeks old onwards. Is it OK to walk the dog for a short time when it is this young? Also is it OK to never allow your puppy in the house?(It will always be around people and have a large grass area to play in)

he was just sleeping on my foot nicely while i was revising then he got up, walked several steps and i heard this BLEUGHHH noise.
i then saw a yellowy liquid by him, it was quite small.
i picked him up to give him a little hug, like you do, and he felt all floppy;
but that might because he just got up, he's so dopey then.
is this anything major?

On Saturday at around noon we gave my dog her flea and tick medication per the vet's orders (we need to administer it every month an this is the first time we've done it- she's only six months old). The name of the flea and tick medication is called Promeris Duo, and the brand is Fort Dodge Animal Health (we live in Belgium so you may not be familiar with the medication).
Anyway, ever since we administered it to her yesterday- she's been sleeping. She will play a little bit, or go bark at a squirrel for ten minutes, but then its back to sleep for a long time. On the package it did say that a possible side effect of the medication is that the dog will be lethargic for 24 hours, and it hasn't been a full 24 hours yet. I'm just wondering if any of you have had experience with this brand, or think that it is fairly normal that she is tired. We are planning on calling the vet tomorrow if she is not better- but I just wanted people's thoughts. By the way, she is eating normally.

1. allowing her dogs access to chocolate and raisins
2. not taking them to the vet because of shoe sales
3. allowing her first dog to die without treatment
4. sitting at home while her pregnant second dog vomits, has diarrhea, refuses to eat, is lethargic and aggressive.
5. allowing a dog to get pregnant twice - first at 6 months, then at 1 year old.
6. offering human food hoping it will help.
7. after all this asking people not to be rude because she "wont appreciate it" while asking for home remedies.

oh btw.. she did ask here what she should do right after she found the dogs with the chocolate, while the other dog was still alive - she chose to do nothing - this was her second question, one day and one dead dog later, about the incident.
no stupid, theres no home remedy for dead or dying dogs!

What do you think he is dreaming about? Do you know if there have been any scientific tests to find out what dogs dream of when they sleep?

Okay, my dog just had one puppy about an hour ago. Is that it? Will she have more?

Also, what can my family and I do to help/take care of it? Or should we just let her take care of her baby for now?

Lastly, when is a good time to begin playing with the puppy away from it's mother?

I've had a Rat Terrier now since December but tonight I got a mix breed pitbull that is rather large. They are both the same age but I was wondering if this is a safe idea? They have been playing ruff and the rat terrier isn't looking angry or scared about the situation.

My little anna has pneumonia. The vets last week said it was an upper respitory infection, when i brought her back in today, they did a chest xray and said it was now in her lungs, they also said her white blood cell count is still up so she is working to fight this as hard as she can. they gave me some more medicine. its called bactrim. I am giving it to her twice daily and a pill 3 times a day. the vet said i should DEFINENTLY see improvement in the next 2 days and if not bring her back monday for a bronchial tube (sp) she is also still on clavamox. I just wanted to know if there is anything else i can do. i am also putting her with a vaporizer in the bathroom with the shower running to help her breathe better. Has anyone had a dog with pneumonia? and how long did it take there dog to get better. I will say that she was eating and drinking more on her own today. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks!

I'm not trying to be nasty but i have heard that you need to clean them & I don't really know exactly where they are at or what they look like? Also does it hurt dogs to have this done? I have an eleven pound male chihuahua.

Okay you guys are makeing me mad saying my dog is adgreesive. Well my dog is great with other dogs, she is a dog that will take no threat. She will not put a foot out of the yard. She loves to sit in the fornt yard in the shade and sometimes the nabors sheltie comes into my yard and plays with Daisy but she will not go out of the yard. Yet the Chuhaha *little bit* is always off leash and come over to my dog snarling. I have no reason to leash my dog. The dog comes over and attacks her. So she beat the poo out of it. I don't like chis and neither dose my yorkie. What to do?

i adopted a 5 month old lab terrier mix from a neighbors family member. they could not keep the pup, and they were passing her around to different relatives, who kept her outside alone, locked in a barn for a week etc. she is wonderful with my husband, 2 teen daughters, and myself, but we also have 3 grandsons under the age of 4.the other day she growled and snapped at the 1 yr old, and today the 2 yr old reached towards her and she growled and tried to bite him. i dont want to give up on her, she is a wonderful girl, but my grandsons safety comes first. ideas??

Hey I was hoping for some advice on owning a Great Dane. I think they're a wonderful breed and I'd love to own one myself, but I'm looking for some answers or advice from Great Dane owners or people with experience on Great Danes. I have already looked up suffiecient information on the breed, it's needs, and it's impressive size. I have a six year old beagle who is very friendly, and I'm told great Danes are great with other dogs, people,. and children. Anyway, please give me a little advice! Thanks a lot

Well it's near fathers day, and my dad always said he wanted a mini schnauzer before he retires.

Right now I don't have much allowance money, but my siblings and I want to put our money together and buy a mini schnauzer. Any inexpensive places to get them? Together our allowances are about 200 dollars. Please help!

Remember we can spend from 0-200 dollars on it! Websites are good too.

Hi...I just recently came across a 2 year old shih tzu in a shelter that is absolutely adorable! I researched so many dogs (b/c I am an allergy sufferer) but I don't know too much about the shih tzu. My husband and I are planning to start a family within the next year and I read that they are not good with kids??? Any info you may have (esp shih tzu owners) would be greatly appreciated. I would really love to save this dog but I want to make sure it is the right dog for us! Thanks so much!
