Your dog was NOT spayed. If it had been spayed it would be impossible for her to have puppies. When a dog is spayed the ovaries & uterus are completely removed..no reproductive organs no pregnancy.
Also while there are some vets that do pediatric spay/neuters most do not..so while possible it isn't likely that your vet spayed your dog at 10 weeks of age.
On top of that a dog can't become pregnant unless she is in heat...a heat cycle is something you would defiantely have noticed in an unspayed female.
There is no way not ot do a spay "right" you either do it or you don't...the only way she became pregnant is if she was NOT spayed..even if she had a piece of ovarian tissue left behind which can occur but is very rare she still could NOT have become pregnant..if she had been pregnant (not possible at 10 weeks) she still would NOT have had puppies if she were spayed since the puppies are inside the uterine horn and would have been completely removed during the spay since the uterus is completely removed.

It is not uncommon for a vet to miss a small piece of a female organ and for the animal to go into a "false heat". However, that is exactly what the name implies. The animal looks like it is going into heat but it cannot produce eggs and therefore cannot produce babies. The dog was never spayed in the first place. I work at an animal shelter and our shelter has spayed thousands of pets in just the past year. While the procedure is more organized now I have known of incidences at our shelter where the vet had so many spay/neuters he would open them up but forget to remove the organs.
My guess is that your veterinarian was real busy that day. However, it still does not exempt your vet from being responsible. You veterinarian was being very irresponsible. I recommend you ask for a refund and free basic veterinary care for all the puppies (all shots, deworming, spay/neuter). If your vet does not comply find out who the vet works under. If your vet is a member of the american veterinary medical association, contact them. A lawyer should be your last resort because they are expensive.

A spay is a complete ovariohysterectomy, meaning they remove the ovaries and uterus. It is impossible for a spayed female to get pregnant, never mind give birth.
You need to contact your vet and find out what is going on!! You should get a complete refund for the so-called "spay" that was performed at 10 weeks.
NOTE: Not all females will have an apparent spay incision, so that is not always a definitive way to determine if a female is intact or not.
Hope this helps!

I don't know exactly how a vet can screw up a spay? You either spay them or you don't. Obviously something went horribly wrong! And 10 wks is way way way way to early to spay a poor puppy. They sould have told you this in the first place. You need to call them and let them know whats up and get your money back....And never go back there again. But take her to another vet and let them know what happened and get her spayed for real this time!!

Something was not right with the procedure.. It is impossible for a truly spayed dog to have puppies... However 10 weeks old is usually young to spay her unless she came from a shelter.. Did she have sutures when she came home?

I have no idea. Usually spaieing dogs meant that if thier pregnant then that should get rid of the puppies in the dogs stomach. They seriusly can't have pups if you spayed her. Maybe the spay didn't get through, if I were you I'd give the vet a call and ask for some details.

Well, it looks like they didn't spay her! Did she have an incision? You need to call the vet that supposedly did the surgery and get a copy of your records and find out what happened.

When they spay your pet, the vet is suppose to remove the uterus and ovaries making it impossible for the dog to have puppies ever again.
Get copies of your pet's vet records and get a lawyer

Let's see...she was 10 weeks when she was supposedly spayed and how old was she when you got the male dog? If it was right after....that would make her approx. 4 months old. Something doesn't add up...

Apperantly the vet didnt do it right, and i would suggest after these pups are old enough go to a different vet and make sure the vet knows what they are doing because this is impossible so the vet had to mess up i would also tell the vet about this.
