The Dobie, who had been abused and left tied up outside, no food/water has started snapping at me again. How can I get them to stop while I still have at least one unpunctured body part left 7 before they've crashed into & broken all the furniture?

My dog is a german shepard mix female. She has been fixed and all her shots. She is about 2 yrs old. She weighs 75 pounds. Very good watch dog and loves the outdoors even though she lives indoors. We have a baby and the dog nipped at our daughter and my wife said it was enough. She loves adults and very good dog. Would like to find a nice home out in the country so she could run around. I can send pictures if you would like.

regularly on my dog she does pick up the odd tick now and then. The vet has tested all her vital signs, temperature, heart and anemia and finds nothing. She has no energy and doesn't eat. We are giving her vitamins and the vet injected her to combat any virus, but nothing is working. Could it be Lyme desease?

My dog keeps howling and barking in the boot of the car whenever we go out anywhere. It's become a real pain and is starting to get distracting. Does anyone know what I should do to keep her calm and stop crying whilst driving?

I have a dog that I am trying to get registered. I bought him from someone that I do not know. However, I do know that the puppy I bought parents are registered. So, I know that I have to have my puppies parents CKC numbers to register my puppy. I have contacted the people that I bought the puppy from many many times and they will not return my call. I need to get my puppy registered, but how if they will not give me the numbers? I did not sign a contract of any sort.

Can anyone explain a few things to me.

I have been told and read mixed views on this.

Some people say there is no such thing as tea/toy terriers. I know they are small anyway but I thought that the tea/toy ones were ones that grow slightly smaller as they have very small parents and if they are under a certain weight they are classed as this?

Im no expert so im probably wrong...

But if not how can you make sure the terrier puppy you buy will grow into a small one (i know all are small) but we want it to be tiny when fully grown...

I have a dachshund that can be breed but the people that I bought him from will not give me the sire and dam's numbers so I can send his papers in. I have the understanding that I have to have those numbers in order to get him registered. If they won't give them to me for whatever reason, what can I do?

DOGS & RAISINS-----toxic Even if you don't have a dog, you might have friends who do. This is worth passing on to them.

I looked on Snopes and found it's true. http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/raisins.asp
(Below written by a vet)

This week I had the first case in history of raisin toxicity ever seen at MedVet. My patient was a 56-pound, 5 yr old male neutered lab mix that ate half a canister of raisins sometime between 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM on Tuesday. He started with vomiting, diarrhea and shaking about 1AM on Wednesday but the owner didn't call my emergency service until 7AM.
I had heard somewhere about raisins AND grapes causing acute Renal failure but hadn't seen any formal paper on the subject. We had her bring the dog in immediately. In the meantime, I called the ER service at MedVet, and the doctor there was like me - had heard something about it, but....Anyway, we contacted the ASPCA National Animal Poison Control Center and they said to give IV fluids at 1 = times maintenance and watch the kidney values for the next 48-72 hours.
The dog's BUN (blood urea nitrogen level) was already at 32 (normal less than 27) and creatinine over 5 (1.9 is the high end of normal). Both are monitors of kidney function in the bloodstream. We placed an IV catheter and started the fluids. Rechecked the renal values at 5 PM and the BUN was over 40 and creatinine over 7 with no urine production after a liter of fluids. At the point I felt the dog was in acute renal failure and sent him on to MedVet for a urinary catheter to monitor urine output overnight as well as overnight care.
He started vomiting again overnight at MedVet and his renal values have continued to incr ease daily. He produced urine when given lasix as a diuretic. He was on 3 different anti-vomiting medications and they still couldn't control his vomiting. Today his urine output decreased again, his BUN was over 120, his creatinine was at 10, his phosphorus was very elevated and his blood pressure, which had been staying around 150, skyrocketed to 220.. He continued to vomit and the owners elected to euthanize.
This is a very sad case - great dog, great owners who had no idea raisins could be a toxin. Please alert everyone you know who has a dog of this very serious risk. Poison control said as few as 7 raisins or grapes could be toxic. Many people I know give their dogs grapes or raisins as treats including our ex-handler's. Any exposure should give rise to immediate concern.
