OMG! poodles are the best dogs to get. My grandma just got one and she hasnt gotten big. They are fun to cuddle with and are veeerrrry smart. They understand when they do something bad. They are fun playmates, and when u get them hyper they are soooo fun to play with. I do a drill with my grandmas dog. Its where i retend to be stuck and she barks really loud, and the first time i did this she did it rite away like she had already learned it. I was only getting a toy for her! you'll realy enjoy a poodle.

I work at a vet clinic, and we see a lot of toy poodles. They CAN make good pets, if they are treated as a Pet, not as a baby. A lot of toy poodles, and other toy dogs are treated like babies, and turn into little terrors. Their owners let the dog push them around until they get their way. That is when we see little spoiled brats, who bite and growl if they don't get their way.
But we also see some VERY sweet toy poodles, and these are the dogs who are treated like dogs. They went to obedience classes, they have manners, and they don't get away with growling and snapping. Toy poodles are very smart and very sweet dogs when they are raised like a dog.

There is NO SUCH thing as a Tea cup anything!! There is not one dog standard that even recognizes this term!! They are in many cases just the runt of the litter or puppies of extra small dogs. There is also no guarantee that any puppy called a tea cup will stay extra tiny. If you want a very small dog adopt and adult that way you know it will stay small. As for personality they would be just like any other poodle. And dogs are only well behaved if you take the time to train them right!!

good dogs, smart too! only down side is that they get very possesive of the human they choose to bond with and unless you want it under your feet or in your lap 24/7 they I would say, give it some more thought.
I had one, great dog and I could not make a move in the house without her. Whenever I got after her, she would run to the bedroom to her pillow, sit facing the wall and cry. yes, I do mean real tear streaks down her face.
They need extra attention and think you are put on this earth just for them.
Great dogs, smart, loyal, happy and overly loving.

There is no such thing a s a teacup poodle. It's a made up term used by unethical breeders to charge more for a "special size" when in reality, the dog is smaller then it should be.

Any breeder who advertises as breeding 'teacup' anything is not a reputable breeder. This is a term used as a marketing ploy in order to get more money for a poorly bred dog. Your best bet is to go to a reputable toy poodle breeder for a puppy. 'teacup' poodles tend not to look like proper poodles anymore as they have been bred with increasingly shorter legs and so are not the elegant type that poodles should be. Please do not support the 'teacup' breeders and support a reputable one instead.
