I have a male standard poodle who really needs new dog food. He is 4 years old. Right now he is eating Hill's Science Diet but he really hates it. Sadly everything else we've tried he's turned his nose up at. Any good brands of dog food to let him try?

I am thinking that I may breed my Westie. She is a little over 1 yr, she is friendly, loving to all, energetic, etc. She is very healthy, I have heard, however that breeding them causes the female's personality to change after giving birth to her litter. Is this in fact true? I love her just the way that she is. I wouldn't want to take the chance of changing her personality even a little bit. I've looked everywhere and spoken with numerous vets over the phone, and no one can give me a straight answer, and there is nothing about their "personality" change after giving birth. Anyone out there know if her personality will change after having babies? Thanks to all! :)

My best friend had a dog named Piffany and she totally screwed up on her part as being the caretaker. She never took her dog to the vet. not even once! She's going to get rid of her dog cause she's bored with it and because the dog digs up holes in the dirt. She doesnt know anything about her dog-she doesn't even know what breed it is! Her brother and sister don't even care for the dog-the brother like to spray the dog with the garden hose while the dog is resting, and th parents dont even take care of the dog. My friend is the only one who brushes it, and they dont trim it's nails and take it to the groomer. The dog is not licensed! and she's a backyard breeder!!! She's selling (thank god the poor dog won't suffer) the dog, which is good, but she's getting a new dog. How do I politely tell her,"DONT GET A DOG!!!"

He's been eating grapes-and bananas. I was wondering if that was okay. He's started to rub his face with his arms and cry nowadays. It seems as if he's going nuts....or something. >< I just really hate to see my puppy like that- I hope nothings wrong with him. When I placed my hand on his tummy it was making weird noises. I wondered if he has a tummy ache. Is that normal?

I do not care what your answers have to say, but I feel with all the anti-pitbull hysteria, I would make a statement.

It is immoral to blame a dog for being aggressive, when the root of their aggression often stems from irresponsible ownership and abuse.

It is immoral to clump all dogs of a certain breed type "agressive" just because they were born of a certain mother and father.

It is immoral to mistreat and misrepresent and rant and rave about a dog and it's aggression and how it should be put away when you KNOW NOTHING of the breed and their traits.

I own two pitbulls, and I'm proud. I walk them without a leash, and when they break free from the yard, I'm not worried about whether they'll attack. Because they won't. You may say pitbulls are unpredicatable (my own mother says it about my dogs) but I know they are not. They are emotionally and characteristically stable, and I will not dispute these facts.

Do not be so ignorant as to destroy innocent lives. Research

I got a Siberian husky about 5 months ago, when she was about 2 months. The problem that I have with her, is that she seems so detached, like she has no real personality to her. She just lays around and is very quiet. The only time she makes any noise is when she whines for my other Husky to come and play with her, but she doesn't seem to enjoy human company. She's also not very responsive when people speak to her. She barely even knows her own name. She does respond sometimes though. So I was wondering.. is my dog going through some sort of depression maybe? Is there anything I can do to help? And is there the possiblility that she might be slightly deaf?

Hi. I have a new puppy, well he's almost 6months now. He is a male chihuahua. He weighs about 2lbs if even. I was told his parents are AKC registered but have yet to receive any more info or papers for my puppy. I figured I would register him myself. I don't know his parent's names' or anything. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

We are looking for a free dog small in size in the Nashville, clarksville, TN or Hopkinsville,Fort Campbell, KY area. (We would love a runt of the littler please before taking to be put down as some local breeders do)We are only asking for free becuase there will still be costs for the dog. To get the animal fixed, shots, a microchip as well as flea and tick prevention and heartworm prevention. We are willing to invest in the dog but would much rather have our vet take care of all the shots and so forth if possible. Thanks in advance

Whenever I leave my house for a long period of time, my 1 year border collie ALWAYS takes one of my thing that I either llove dearly or use alot. Why does she do that? Does she just want more attention? And yes since she's a border collie she needs LOTS of exercise, I run/play/walk/run with her 3 hours a day. But why does she do that??
