I am researching adopting a greyhound and thinking of seriously adopting one. My question is that I have really only found how to adopt one and the pros, or wonderful parts of having one. Can someone who either has one or has adopted one please tell me what the consequences, or cons, would be to adopting a retired race hound? I do have the book greyhounds for dummies coming to me in the mail, but I wanted to get some real answers from real people. Please let me know your experiences in adopting a greyhound so I know what I may be in for in a few months, if I decide to go through with this. Thanks for your help!

I own a choclate coloured lab which is 3 months old.Like all puppies , he loves biting. But the problem is that when he bites he means business.Often he gets violent - His lips curl , Hackles stand up and he growls and bites like hell.He even draws blood during these fits.Have tried everything to try to combat this prob. Now as he is growing, the problem is becoming bigger.Pleeze help.

I'd like something very small. Preferably with no hair or with real hair like a yorkie but small. I'd like a dog that isn't too hyper. I've been to a few pet stores and they have some puppies that have already been nuetered? Is this a good thing?

I had a cat once and it was crazy. It tore up my whole house. I don't want that experience again.

Any suggestions?

Yes it is getting on my nevers all the desinger dogs people are coming up with, but every breed that is thought of a a pure breed was made by crossing two or more breeds to come up with what we have now. Some of these new mixd breeds maybe future grand champions of the AKC.

My beautiful dog fell into a pool today and was pulled out awkwardly. I think she has dislocated her left hip. She has a appointment at the vets tomorrow, but what are the treatment options for this? Can anyone let me know. She is remaining quiet and sedentary, and doesn't appear to be in a lot of pain. But off to the vet in the am. Thanks

now why if someone posts about a pit or asking about dangerous dogs they will get several answers, but someone with a genuine question will only get a few? ok now i know i have a question right now about something silly as to which dog is cuter, but it's to settle a silly argument. i admit. but in all seriousness why would people rather spread hateful fear and propaganda about something they know nothing of, just what they've seen on the news, then answer and offer to help someone who really might need it?

How large is your newfoundland? I know the average for a male is 25 to 27 inches at the shoulder and 150 to 170 pounds however our newfoundland puppy will be 6 months old on the 17th and is already 24 inches at the shoulder. And is coming in already at about 70 pounds. Just wondering how much larger we can expect him to get. :) Also when did your stop growing? Have had large breeds before who continued to grow untill about 18 months. But this is our first Newfoundland. And we love him!!! Can't wait to get a second one. :0)

Thanks for any imput you can give me.

they are three weeks old born December 20th. My problem is that the mother ( my 1/2 pitt 1/2 boxer) isnt wanting to feed them this is her first litter she was very maternal at first feeding them etc... and still is even though they can eliminate on there own but instead of laying down letting them feed she'll stand there and I have to physically hold her or she just doesnt do it. I'm 37 weeks pregnant as well ready to pop and if I do Im concerned about leaving to have my baby and not having her feed hers my cousin had the same problem and bottle fed them since Cheyeanne ( my girl) gets in there maybe twice a day Im pretty sure I just need to supplement a little bit as they can start on puppy gruel next week but despite being hungry and crying for it they dont want to take a bottle ( i think it has to do with the texture of the nipple on the bottle ) does anyone have any tips on how to get them to take the bottle they have but they arent to willing ( and Ive tried squeezing some milk

My Boston Terrier is 6 mos old. She will go and scratch at the door to go out and potty. So I know she knows to go out. But she still chooses to go on the floor sometimes. Is there something else that I should do or will it just take longer? I know it's a stubborn breed. But she has the idea to scratch the door. How can I get it across to her that she can't potty in the house?

I have two dogs, a chi-pom and a pom, the chi-pom gets really jealous and upset when we don't pay attn to her and she has recently started biting the corners of the wall, at first we didn't notice but now its getting out of control. Because my pom sees her doing it, he now does it too. Just today I found that they have started biting and scratching a hole in the wall. They are both under 6 lbs. and I want to use a training shock collar on them so that they will stop. Any other suggestions???
