How large is your newfoundland? I know the average for a male is 25 to 27 inches at the shoulder and 150 to 170 pounds however our newfoundland puppy will be 6 months old on the 17th and is already 24 inches at the shoulder. And is coming in already at about 70 pounds. Just wondering how much larger we can expect him to get. :) Also when did your stop growing? Have had large breeds before who continued to grow untill about 18 months. But this is our first Newfoundland. And we love him!!! Can't wait to get a second one. :0)

Thanks for any imput you can give me.

We have a Newfoundland, he was 1 Dec 22, 06. Right now he weights 140-150 and about 25-30 inches tall he has not been to the vet for an update weight and height. He seems to not stop growing. We did not know he was going to be quite this big. This is our first large breed, the trainer thinks he will top out around 200 lbs. He will not be full grown till about 18 months

What kind of food/feeding schedule is your pup on? As you know from having large breeds before, growing too fast is thought to be very hard on large dogs, particularly in their hips/joints. I might just make sure your big puppy is nice and lean, and if you are feeding kibble that you have chosen a large breed puppy formula.

we have a newfe dog and she is 8 and she weighs about 125 lbs she stopped growing by the time she hit 2 she filled out. my newfiie thinks she is a good house dog... newfies tend to blow their coats 2 times a year and if he is inside it is a mess. my advice for that is brush brush brush and vaccuum, vaccuum, vaccuum. males tend to get way bigger. if you can take a look at the parents. that should be a good guage at how big your will get

your best bet would be to consult your breeder and see about his parents
