You mean to tell me that you have not yet been to the vet to have the dog seen to? You must take the dog to the vet to have this wound treated! It sounds very deep to me. Just becuase an ointment for horses works for hourses does not mean it works for dogs. With this kind of wound, unles you really know what you are doing, always go to the vet. The dog might need painkillers. Have you thought of that? Of course you don't know what else to do, you are not a vet. It does not sound like a wound that can be treated by the owner. Never mess with a wound like this. You could do more damage, more harm than good.
Okay, to the vets immediately.
Eli.

First you need to calm down. secondly you should go see a VET. I'm sure they'll bandage it up. And that thing by the hole I woudn't worry about it if it's like a little scratch but if it was like bleeding profusely or it's extremely large I would ask the vetanarian to check that out too cuz it could get infected especially if he/she is an outside dog.

Take him to the vet, the wound could easily become infected.
If you don't go to the vet you will fall foul of animal cruelty laws and could be prosecuted.
If you can't afford a vet then call the RSPCA

Take your dog to the vet ASAP. That wound needs stiched back together and the longer you leave the harder it will be to do that. Also if you leave it to long there is a chance that it won't heal properly at all - GET TO A VET!!!!!!

Theres no way this wound can heal withoutt veterinary attention; if the skin is hanging off.
Get your dog to the vet straight away, you are risking prosecution for neglect!

You should either take you`r` dog to the vets and see if he is badly hurt or you could ask a expert that knows everything about dogs when they are hurt.

surely common sense would have told you to get the dog to the vet. You don't really deserve to have a dog if you can't be responsible!!!!.I know they can have accidents{mine did] but I was responsible enough to get him treatment straight away!!!!
