they are three weeks old born December 20th. My problem is that the mother ( my 1/2 pitt 1/2 boxer) isnt wanting to feed them this is her first litter she was very maternal at first feeding them etc... and still is even though they can eliminate on there own but instead of laying down letting them feed she'll stand there and I have to physically hold her or she just doesnt do it. I'm 37 weeks pregnant as well ready to pop and if I do Im concerned about leaving to have my baby and not having her feed hers my cousin had the same problem and bottle fed them since Cheyeanne ( my girl) gets in there maybe twice a day Im pretty sure I just need to supplement a little bit as they can start on puppy gruel next week but despite being hungry and crying for it they dont want to take a bottle ( i think it has to do with the texture of the nipple on the bottle ) does anyone have any tips on how to get them to take the bottle they have but they arent to willing ( and Ive tried squeezing some milk

i bet you are kicking yourself in the butt for not having her spayed and putting yourself and 6 innocent mixed breed pups in this position. thanks for contributing to the over population of unwanted mixed breed pets. especially pits, great dogs, but because of ignorance it's going to be tough to find good home for them. you're just going to have to hold her down or find someone that can. if they won't take a bottle. they're almost 4 weeks old. put down the gruel now. it's going to be messy but hey you brought the pups here, you're going to have to clean up after them. also next week is a good time to take mom and the pups into the vet for dewormings and find out when you need to bring the pups in for first vaccines. have your dog spayed.

They are old enough to start eating puppy food.. start out by softening it with water, and leave some plain dry out for them.. They are old enough to start weaning and mom knows that..
