She is fine if she is with me ..she never poops on the couch or the floor or in my bed..only in her crate!!! It is very frustrating...she is doing so well with house breaking but when I put her in her crate it is like she panics and then poops. I dunno if it is anxiety or what. She even does it if I am in the room with her. I dunno what to do.

It wasn't pitbulls this time -- good news for pitbull owners, bad news for boxer owners -- how do you feel about this? Should the dogs have been put down? Should the owner of the dogs be jailed or fined?

SAN DIEGO -- A dog owner may be headed to jail after his animals viciously attacked a North County veterinarian who was out for a walk with her two young sons.

The attack left Nancy Matthews with more than 100 bite wounds over most of her body. According to Matthews, the attack took place while she was on a walk in Valley Center with her two young sons. She said the two boxers suddenly attacked her and mauled her for nearly 15 minutes.

"It went on for so long, I started losing blood and losing consciousness," Matthews told NBC San Diego. "At one point, I knew they were killing me."

Matthews said she was terrified the dogs would turn on her sons -- ages 9 and 11 -- and that she kept screaming for them to run away.

I am a huge Dog lover. My nieghbors never tie up their dog and it really bothers me that they don't care about their dog running away, or being hit by a car, or it biting someone and have to be put to sleep. On top of that it's always in my yard bothering my dog and biting her collars off. It's very aggresssive towards humans. Everytime I go to do something in my yard it comes up to me and growls at me. It scars the crap out of me and any company we have over. I've tried leaving them a note to tie up their dog but it only worked for about a month or so. I kind of feel bad for the dog because you can tell their lack of care for it. People keep telling me I should call animal control but I don't know what they would do...anyone know?

I just bought a 2 month old Shitzu. I read everything about crate training and thought that would be a good idea. The first time I put her in the crate she cried, yelled, started bitting the crate, she got very wild as I had never seen before.
I took her out because she was going to hurt herself and was too loud.
I tried 3 more times and the same thing happened. I read that for some dogs the crate training does not work. Do you think I should give up and try something else? She is doing good with the paper, but i would like to have her eliminating outside.
I don't know what to do. I need help!

Thanks

She shakes all the time. This is so unlike her. She's is usually playful and a great watch dog but something in the house scared her and I have no idea what it was. She doesn't eat much and just tries to get in corners and hides. I don't know what to do for her and I feel so bad. It came on suddenly and I can't imagine what it was that scared her. No one hit her and there were no loud noises or anything like that. Anyone have any idea of what I can do to snap her out of this? I give her love and try to play with her but she wants no part of it. I'm at a loss as to how to help her. Any ideas would be so appreciated.

since we moved, he will not go on his pad any longer. Lately he is going on the carpet even though I let him out twice when I get up and then walk him twice before I leave for work. How do I retrain him to go on his pad. I used to have it in the bathroom, but this one is too small so I moved it into my bedroom!

I walk him twice at night before I go to sleep and we pees in the middle of the night now.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

My 14 week old Chihuahua has developed a very inflammed rash on the inside of both of her ears, and also behind them. One minute they are not so inflammed and the next, they are extremely inflammed and very itchy.I spoke to my vet, and instead of telling me to bring her in for an exam, he told me to put Benadyl Cream on them and that should help. I was also told that Emu Oil should also help with the itch, and the soreness. What are your views on Emu Oil? I am not happy with my vets advice, and I need to find a different one! In the meantime, I feel so sorry for my baby, that I need something that will help with her itching and discomfort that would be effective. What can I use that would be safe, if after it's put on, and she scratches her ear and licks her paw, or if one of my other Chihuahuas licks it off while grooming her. Any advice would be so greatly appreciated! Thank You!!! Serious Answers Only Please!!!

She is being raised with a small yorkie that is very timid also. Any suggestions? Proffessional trainer , Perhaps?

Do people really believe "No Kill Shelters" take in every dog? I see a lot of people on here tell others to take their sick dogs to no kill shelters because they cant afford vet bills or the dog has aggression issues. I worked at a no kill shelter for forty years and we sent several dogs per week to the pound to be euthanized. People would leave sick and dying dogs tied to the gate or just drop them off in the neighborhood. Do they believe they spend thousands in vet care to sell it to you for a $75.00 adoption fee? I'm not sure about your no kill shelters but, mine only kept the dogs they felt could be adopted. Any dog that came and was suffering was put down for its own good. Granted this was the only shelter I worked at but, aren't they all the same?
