My son wants a puppy for Christmas and I debated really hard, beacause of dealing with the death of my Sadie girl. Well, I have decided to get another dog and I am so excited. I go pick her up next Saturday, just in time for Christmas. So, thanks for the support and advise. I feel really good about getting another dog. I have explained to my son that if he gets puppy for Christmas that it will never take the place of Sadie and that Sadie will be happy that he has another pet to sleep with him. Thanks again for those of you who remember helping me out with this. Merry Christmas!

I found its mouth stinks and realise my pup eats its poo when I'm asleep at night. I feed it around 7pm in the evenings, should I feed him earlier? It's hard to ensure it poos before it sleeps.

Please we need your help. We have this male 13-year-old doberman named kevin, and he has some behavior problems. He's a very good dog but when you yell or order him to do something, he gets mad and starts growling. Yesterday, he bited my granpa only because he tried to move the dog's head a little just to pass trough a door (kevin was blocking the door) and the animal reacted like this. He has never done something like this. My parents are worried because of my 2-year-old brother, we don't want the dog to react like this again. Since it's an old dog, we don't want to gave him to anyone (we don't have anyone who could take him). What should we do? I'll take you answers as an advice so please answer. thanks!

I have a 2 year old Yorkshire Terrier and although he obeys me, he has no regard for my wife or my 5 year old daughter. He growls at them, nips them and, today, he bit my daughter just above her eye when she sat down on a couch next to him. He has been to training - he sits, lays down and stays very well. He clearly likes males as both my father and my father in law have no troubles with him. There is obviously more work to do with him but I'm not sure I want to spend the time and effort. Dogs are supposed to be enjoyable and he is, but only about 75% of the time. At other times he is growling because we walk too close to his food or nipping at my daughter's feet as she skips in our house. What are my options- I'm really not leaning one way or the other. If the answer is get rid of him, I would love some suggestions on what to do i.e. pound, ad in paper, rescue. Thanks a lot!

My female chow is 7 and I have a male chow that is a year old. Everyday he'll start a fight with her by jumping on her back as if he's going to mount her but he'll stand on her back and growl and start biting her in on the back and on her legs. Then my Female German Shepherd would come in and bite her all in the face and then my male chow would run off while my german shepherd beats the crap out of my female chow and he does it everyday. Its as if he wants to get my female chow and female german shepherd to fight. My german shepherd is 10 and my female chow is 7 and they never fought before. My female chow is my favorite dog I feed her first pet her first I always treated her as the dominant dog and I'm not going to change that. Why can't my male chow accept that? Why does my two dogs jump on her? I wish my German shepherd would stay out of it because my female chow can fight my male chow if it was one on one.She has before and she won to. but how can she with two thats not fair to me.

Ok, so I posted a question this morning about my dog being lovesick. Now, I am worried. Could she be in heat? I have not spayed her because I got her very recently and was waiting for the Christmas break to do it. I saw a drop of blood on the couch two days ago but I had been cutting her nails. I thought it was from that but I couldn't find a bloody nail. She has been rather strange over the last few days, whining more than usual. She had several accidents in the house which is not normal for her. The vet told me that she was about a year old (she is a rescued chi). What could be wrong? Please don't judge me. My intention is to get her spayed!

I've lived i this apartment for 16 years and the prior management company said that if i owned the dog for at least 3 years then i can keep him. Now this new management spontaneously informs me that i have to remove my dog within 7 days. My dog had all his immunizations and all of his tags are up to date. So are they legally allowed to do this? And what can i do to stop them?

Yesterday, my dog was vomitting and had diarhea all day that came out of nowhere. I gave him a Lomitril pill that the vet had given me once before for him. There was no obvious reason for this. He didn't eat anything new. I gave him a lomotril pill which the vet had given him once before for same symptoms. If he wasn't better after that we were going to the animal hospital. It held him all night. Today he is not vomitting anymore and has no diarhea but still had his usual 3 - 4 bowel movements so far (it's evening) which were normal. He still was not eating so I boiled some white chicken breast. He was starved and devoured it "like an animal"! That was an hour ago and he seems happy now. He hasn't thrown up all day and his movements are formed. Question: without eating for 1.5 days and having diarhea all day, how can he still have significant bowel movements the next day? This can't be coming from any food? What could have caused this since he had nothing different to eat
