Capstar kills fleas on the body, within hours.
Frontline works good too.
You need to treat not just your dog- but everything in the home. Soft carpets, upholstery, hardwood floors, everything. You'll need to treat his yard and bedding. Stop at a vet's office and they can stock you up with bombs and premise sprays.
Good luck, fleas suck!

First you need to treat the dog. Cap-star is a tablet that will kill any fleas on him, but has no residual. Use this first for extreme infestations. Then apply Frontline, which will be effective for about a month. Both of these can be purchased from a vet. Don't bother with the over-the-counter stuff at Walmart, it's not very effective.
Second you need to treat your yard. In the lawn & garden section of Walmart, get some granules that you can spread in your yard, diazinon or along those lines.
Third, if your dog comes inside, you'll need to treat your house. For severe infestations, set off bug bombs first. Then either have your house sprayed by Orkin, or spray it yourself. You will have to vacuum every day for about a month, and throw away the vacuum bag each time as soon as you are done, outside in the dumpster. Or the little buggers will just hop back out. Vacuum all carpets, couches, furniture. Wash all bedding, in hot water if possible. Here's a tip to check for fleas in your house. If you set a blank page of white paper, like typing paper, on the floor and wait a while, fleas are attracted to the white for some reason and will flock to it. You can see them on the paper. Good luck.

Heres a little more homeopathic idea which is what your asking I believe: I believe that my mother use to use brewers yeast sprinkled on our dogs food each day, not a ton of it but a teaspoon or so. You can get brewers yeast in any store that sells natural foods. But once a month frontline is great for fleas & ticks & living in the northwest it's a treatment that doesn't wash off easily with all the rain we get. Advantage warns against bathing too soon after treating. Which means alot of rain also washes it out! I use the frontline it's easier to remember to put it on him once a month rather than every days food!

Go to the vet and they will either give you revoltuion or frontline whichever works best. Clean your home top to bottom if hes inside and than get flea foggers and fog according to directions.

First treat dog with front line each month and treat house with foggers. Make sure you get the whole house and that no animals or people are in the house. How bad is it ?

Euthanasia. Taking the poor dog to the vet and having it put to sleep will take care of the flea problem.
Other than that. Try and get special shampoos at the Pet store.
Vaccuum alot! The pet stores usually carry stuff you can put on your rugs to kill fleas.
