One of the problems that some people have with their dogs and puppies it that they will eat their poo. Well, this is because the food you are feeding is lacking necessary vitamines that even the prieum dog foods to not have. Puppy vitamines those are great to give daily as necessary per weight of your puppy but still not good enough for you problem. Your puppy is missing Biotin in its diet. Biotin deficiency results in hair loss and in hair and skin disorders in cats and dogs, but the exact requirements for it are unknown in both. This B vitamin is essential for thyroid and adrenal health, strong nervous systems and nerve tissue, healthy reproduction, normal sweat glands and bone marrow, and healthy skin. It is necessary for utilization of fat, proteins, and carbohydrates in the body. Biotin is a cure for dogs that eat their feces; they may be looking for this vitamin, which is produced to some extent in the intestines. Raw egg whites contain an enzyme that depletes biotin. For this reason, eggs fed to pets should be cooked to deactivate this enzyme. So I suggest is getting some Biotin at a store in human form and give to your puppy. The only other thing you can try is adolfs meat tenderizer. Sprinkle this on your puppy or dogs food for a few weeks and it has been said to help stop this. I dont know why and have never personally tried but it has been said to work. Anyway if you need some vitamin information just email me directly bullmastiffpuppiesakc@yahoo.com Blessings, Kelly

Don't let him be around his poo at night! Walk him right before he goes to bed, then put him in a crate or box that isn't big enough for him to sleep at one end and potty in the other.

Well do you take him out after he poops? Wondering how he access to his poop. Actually at 3 months - I'm guessing he's not house trained yet, so that explains it.
Anyway - its normal for dogs to eat their poop - most stop by a yr old and some never stop. They smell the protein in it. You can call your vet for this thing to stick in their food to get them to stop, but some people actually use meat tenderizer - I believe Adolfo brand or something like that.

He poos and then eats it? Maybe his nutritional balance is off, try switching to a different food. If not, dog diapers to wear at night might keep it from coming to his mouth, hopefully discouraging him so you can just keep them off after a while.

Well clean up the poop before he has a chance to eat any of it!
You should be feeding him two or three times per day and walking him everyday.
Also, make sure he poops BEFORE you go to bed.

Your puppy is only 3 months old, you should have a set time just before you go to bed when you bring him outside to do his business and watch him carefully so he doesn't eat it while your back is turned.

Someone told me once that they had this problem and fixed it by feeding some pineapple with its food, and apparently they dont like the taste of it.

feed it at 7:00 am instead of pm and and they have a special food that makes their "poo" spicy so they won't eat it.
