My son wants a puppy for Christmas and I debated really hard, beacause of dealing with the death of my Sadie girl. Well, I have decided to get another dog and I am so excited. I go pick her up next Saturday, just in time for Christmas. So, thanks for the support and advise. I feel really good about getting another dog. I have explained to my son that if he gets puppy for Christmas that it will never take the place of Sadie and that Sadie will be happy that he has another pet to sleep with him. Thanks again for those of you who remember helping me out with this. Merry Christmas!

I didn't see your question in October but I can certainly relate. Our 4 yr. old Shih Tzu passed away from AIHA on October 17th. I too, was afraid to get another dog and wasn't ready until now. We just got a new puppy last Monday and it was the best decision ever. She has brought alot of joy to our family.

Merry Christimas & congratulations on your decision to get a puppy for your son. You won't regret it.

Merry Christmas to you as well....I didn't see your original question, but I am happy that you are giving another dog a good home and that you realize Sadie will always be a part of you.

I am sorry to hear about your loss. But, I can say from personal experience that even though it is hard, it will make it a little better to have the pitter patter of little paws in the house.
