Dogs - October 2006

in april of this year i had gotten my dog rabbies shot. is it 2 early to get another one because i want to get my dog a flea bath and petco won't do it until I show them proof of the shot she got.... can't find the paper work and it was a local town thing at the fire stastion and the town hall doesn't have it. so is it 2 early for her to get another rabbies shot??!!! or will she get really sick/ or not if i do it again with her??!!!!

I have a yellow lab and last week, a kitten showed up at my house. I guess it was lost. Well, the other day, I was watching my lab and the kitten playing outside. The lab layed down and the kitten began to nurse from her. Today, we were outside with my four year old playing and I picked up the kitten. My lab immediately comes over and jumps in my lap to lick and smell the kitten to check on it. After I put the kitten down, the lab was checking the kitten all over. I often see the kitten and the lab asleep together. Is this normal? I think it's sweet. I was just curious. Thanks.

I was wondering about having my jack russell becoming my service/theraphy dog so it would enable her to go where I go.any suggestions toward registering, licenseing, training,ect.? would be greatly appreciated.. any ideas to keep us together, thanks, gypzsailor

My puppy is only 2 weeks old i havent gotten her yet i have to wait 4 more weeks but im trying to find a name. Shes tan (little darker tan) with some black on her nose. shes very cute and very sweet. she better be for $500 . so do you think you can name her? i want something that isnt too common but yet something thats nice . thanks

okay so i got a 3 month pup on october 20th, her name is Roxy, i absolutely adore her!
when she came home for the first time she seemed fine but later that night she was throwing up, the next day she had diarreah and loss of apetite although she was drinking heavily. we figured it was just from being stressed and getting all her meds/shots a day or two before coming home. she continued this behavior but one night i got her to eat some dry turkey. the next day (october 24th) we took her into the vet assuming she also may have had kennel cough. the vet took fecal matter tests and they came back VERY positive for parvo. since my dog was from the nearby humane society they were unsure of her age but the vet said she may be old enough to make it through.. any advice? how bout if she does make it.. any good cleaning ideas, i've bleached all the floors and probably will do it again. i am so scared for otherdogs as well. ideas for cleaning carpet,
clothes, yard, or inside of the car?

it was one package of orbit gum. i read on the internet that xylitol can make dogs sick, and that was in this gum. it says you may want to take pet the the veterinarian, and i told my dad about this, but he just says that she has eaten gum before and never had a problem. We need a dog that is playful around children yet a guard dog. Like if someone broke into the house or someone was messing with her?

Do anyone think its wrong to let my 2 bassets sleep with me and my husband on the bed - especially as one of them gets under the covers with us and I prefer cudding her!!!! (that was a joke but its a close call)
