I don't think its wrong but you must be aware of the potential problems. (i'm not allowed to sleep with our dogs for these reasons but i still snuggle with them on the sofa under a duvet!)
In a dogs mind the leader of the pack gets to chose where to sleep and all other pack members must respect that. You are not taking that right as pack leader and so your dogs will have that line of your authority blurred in their minds. This may surface in other problem behaviour like, not coming back when called in the park, or being possessive over toys or barking a lot when you go out etc.
Of course the other problem is that dogs carry certain parasites and a warm bed would be the perfect place for said parasites to breed and cause the whole snuggley lot of you much discomfort. Use regular treatments!
Of course its your bed and your dogs so you have to decide your own rules and reasons.
Bassets are really cheerful dogs - the ones I know anyway. Lovely!

My dogs both sleep with me, it's part of their pack mentality. One stays above the covers and the other one prefers to come under the covers. I otherwise sleep alone and wouldn't want anyone else in my bed.

Our dog sleeps on our bed, not under the duvet though unless its freezing cold, she is better than a hot water bottle and she is cleaner than most people I know too, nothing wrong with letting your babies sleep on your bed with you and your hubby, they are part of the family after all, little humans in fur coats they are.

No, I do not think it is a problem. My Bassett Hound and English Bull Dog sleep in bed with my husband and I. I really do not care as long as they are clean and not stinky! I guess it is just a personal preference!

Mmmm. I'd say ask your husband, not us.
His opinion should matter the most (certainly more than the dog's, but not necessarily more than your own).
You two have to talk this over, and reach a decision that works for both of you.
My first husband was quite adamant that the dog did NOT belong on the bed with us. I really did not care.
So be it! NO dog on the bed! :-)) Happy husband, and calm, peaceful life for me BECAUSE husband was happy...

Our two dogs and our cat all sleep on the bed with us.
On occasion, the little fella (jack russell terrier) burrows down below the duvet and lies there for most of the night.
Yes, they take up most of the bed, but we wouldn't have it any other way, as they are members of our family, and we are members of their pack.
