Round worms usually come out with the stool, not all over the carpet. Round worms are white and about 4 inches long. Any good wormer from the pet store with Pyrantel Pamoate will kill both hook (which you can't see) and round worm.

Tape worms come out without a stool when they've had them for a while. The egg segments are what is coming out. They are about 1 1/2 - 2 inches long and white. As soon as they hit the air, they start to shrink up to the size of a grain of rice. A different wormer is needed for this. Pranziquantel is sold at most pet stores now.

Take your dog to your vet asap. He/she will put the dog on a special medicine. I recommend that you go ahead and let your vet give your dog a general physical, even if hes had one this year. I'm not trying to frighten you, but SOMETIMES the worms can be around his heart as well. Your vet can check this area also; if they are there too, your vet can treat them. Worms around a dog's heart are one of the #1 things that "get 'em". Good luck to ya!

Take it and the stuff on your carpet (fresh if possible) to the vet. They can deworm it. My guess, if you can see them, is roundworms. Hookworm can't be seen with the naked eye and tapeworm look like pieces of rice stuck together. Roundworm look like thin spaghetti with points on both ends. Clean up the messes and worms (wear rubber gloves).

Take it to the vet and have the dog dewormed and put on meds if needed. This sounds like a pretty bad case, I would get to the vet as soon as you can.

take him to the vet and get him dewormed. try and take a sample of the puppy's stole with you.

My puppy had worms when I 1st got him to,the Vet say most puppy do have worms. that's why its important to take them for a vet visit.

Oh and get your carpet cleaned. you may want to get a colon cleanser for yourself.. because you can catch have the worms yourself by stepping on the puppy stole.
