If you have a dog, please type what kind, because I have a friend who likes dogs, but she doesn't know what kind of breed does she like so put some down, and tell them if you recommend them too! Thanxs!

He tryed to take away her bone and it may have been an accident, what should I do to teach the dog that biting is wrong no matter what?

She's never done this before.

My dog has been in kennels for 6 weeks, due to a delayed housing chain, and him not being able to come with us. I've only visited twice, because I found it too distressing, and I felt it was unfair on him too. I'm getting him out next weekend, and I just wanted to know whether he's actually even likely to remember who I am? Or will he have a new knowledge of me as someone that came to walk him whilst he was in kennels? When I've arrived at kennels, he seems more excited to see me than the other dogs, but I'm still not convinced that he actually associates me with the person who has brought him up from six weeks old :(

My pup 7 months old now licks EVERYTHING, constantly. Doors, mirrors, walls, chairs, me. Really... I know there is that bitter apple stuff that my trainer told me about. It's not a huge deal, but I'm just wondering if anyone else's dog does this!!!

See another wee bairn has been attacked by dogs (this time by two Staffordshire bull terriers) - looks like dogs have been promoted to 'sexy story' grade of late in the media of late, but their supposed concern (just as it did in the original 'rottweilers are vicious' prose many years ago) might just make such breeds more attractive to people - again - who will yearn to stalk around council estates or elsewhere with a couple of the beasts on a lead.
How about the owners getting a fair few paragraphs when such incidents happen...and see what sort of defence they offer.

I have a puppy who I love very much. She is a beautiful doggy named Nana and will turn 1 in February. Being a new trainer, I'd like to know how to teach a couple of things:

How to teach her to like her kennel.

How to be good while I'm away.

(not so important) How to teach her how to fetch or catch a ball or frisbee when I throw it.

PLEASE help me!

I am not an idiot, so if you are a smartass, please don't respond just for the points. My dog is in heat, and receiving her boyfriend. The problem is, that her son from her last litter thinks he is the king of the mountain, and they are fighting, night and day, 24/7. She will not accept the son, but that aint stopping him from thinking he is top dog.

I am not an irresponsible, back yard breeder. She is a small dog, and usually has only 2 pups, and yes, they have homes before they are even concieved, or else she would be protected during heat.

My question is this: how long will she be receiving her boyfriend, and how much longer before the fighting stops and I can get some sleep? If I try to separate them, they just howl & howl, so the family stays together, I just want them to live in peace. The boys are getting snipped next month and mom will get fixed after babies come. That should ease my pain, don't you think?

Tuesday my 12 wk old beagle puppy was so weak he could barely raise his head. I took him to the vet and he said that Copper was infested with hookworms and roundworms. Copper pooped on the floor at the vet's office, and the vet said it had a 'parvo' smell to it. I decided to treat the worms, and wait to see if he got better. He started walking around, and even carrying his toys around, but he still won't eat. He won't eat any kind of food, but he does drink cold water. He also has diarrhea, but it's not bloody, and he vomits also. He's been passing the worms too. Today's his 4th day of being sick, and I've read online that if a puppy has parvo and lives the first 3-4 days, he'll make it. But, I'm not sure it's parvo, especially since he isn't pooping or vomiting blood of any kind. Any answer will be greatly appreceiated.

Does your dog, all of the sudden, burst into a hyper mode? You know, they start running around the house in endless circles, from room to room and so on? Then, when they get back to you, they stop; get down on all fours, then burst into hyper mode again? Just curious. My dog does this and I always wondered if it was just my dog or if anyone elses dog did this sort of thing.
